Being our 1st trip Makry Gialos we strolled along the beautiful boardwalk taking in the sites and sounds of Crete.We came across this lovely restraunt and decided to stop for drinks. The owner came to greet us. Very friendly, Great good and located on the beach. The owners made such a friendly impression that we've returned day after day. Thank you for your nice comment. I love everything about this place, where I spent most of the hours for sure!:) delicious breakfast, lunch and light dinner can be found in here. Great service too!!!!and Crepes of course are just delicious!!! You can ask them to be custom made too, yumm!!!

We have visited Makris Gialos every year since the early nineties, and We always buy our lunch from Beatrice. A nice lady who work hard an serves good food. All her food are recommended, greek Salad with partly home grown vegetables ( the tomatoes are fantastic) , try the greek toast wit feta and tomatoes, the house toast or the burger. You wonât regret eating here!

Ilios is certainly a cafe rather than a restaurant/taverna, but its eclectic menu can cater for most hours of the day, the position is excellent and the service friendly. We enjoyed a Greek salad and an unusual cheese 'pancake' with our beers, in comfortable chairs out of the midday sun, all very reasonably priced.
