Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Madison. The sprawling University of Wisconsin sets the tone for this college town of cafes, bookstores, brewpubs, numerous restaurants (more per capita than anywhere else in the U.S.) and a good share of cultural and historical attractions. Stunning glacial waterways make the City of Lakes one of the more picturesque state capitals in the country. More than 250 parks offer residents and tourists plenty of recreational areas to choose from. If you visit the campus, be sure to try the famous Babcock Ice Cream at Memorial Union or Babcock Hall, before or after a visit to the Elvehjem Museum of Art's collection of Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities. And to really get into the college spirit, head over to State Street's eclectic range of ethnic restaurants. Be sure to try the mouth-watering bratwurst sandwich on a homemade bun at State Street Brats, a student favorite. At the end of State Street, the white granite, Roman Renaissance-style Capitol dominates the skyline and offers an observation platform for views of the city and lakes.

My family and I stumbled upon âLa Brioche presents True Foodâ in Middleton, Wisconsin. There was about a 20 minute wait but in all fairness it was the height of the Sunday Brunch time. Knowing what I know now Iâd wait twice as long. Iâve never been to a restaurant that had a thermos of hot fresh brewed single bean coffee and mugs...in the waiting area. No limit while you wait for your table. To top that off and pinning the âclassy establishment meterâ was a pianist playing a variety of music genres. Iâm sorry that I didnât get his name because he was just what the audience needed. If you go...drop some cash in his tip jar...heâs worth it. So what did I have...Vanilla Challah French Toast with caramelized pecans, bananas, and fresh berries, with a side of their own organic sausage. To drink, as if the mug of coffee while waiting wasnât enough for this coffeeholic ... I had a double Lateâ. One of my desires at breakfast places is that they serve âReal Maple Syrupâ not the hfc stuff. They did serve the Real Maple Syrup without my having to beg! Omg! That alone would get them a 10 in my book. Fortunately the food was delicious! Iâd definitely recommend âLa Brioche presents True Food â and they do it so well!!

I don't think this place has changed since I went to school at UW... and that's fantastic. It's like eating a nice Mediterranean meal in someone's kitchen. The staff is super friendly and the space is interesting. It's unique at this point on State Street... but that makes it worth stopping by. My wife and I went for the Shwarma plates... chicken for her, lamb for me. They came with rice, salad, hummus, and pitas. All of it was tasty. A perfect amount of food for lunch.Only two minor knocks... First, it's cash-only. It's 2017... have to accept credit cards. Second, I would like to see a few more spices/ingredients... the simplicity makes the Mediterranean Cafe accessible to everyone but also limits the ability to customize. Perhaps this is an Americanized take but something I've seen at Mediterranean places in Chicago.Definitely stop by while on State Street... it's great to eat there or to take it over to the Terrace should the weather cooperate.

You can't go wrong! It was all so good!! The nachos with jackfruit carnitas was so fantastic! Then we had the crabcake po-boy which were both fantastic! Tried to go again on our way back through town a few days later but they are closed on Mondays. Will go again if ever if town!

Nice busy restaurant, friendly to kids as well as vegetarians. A large family group was here for Sunday brunch. You place your order and carry your own food (could be tricky for some people in the upstairs seating area). Generous-sized portions, frittas, pancakes (large!) and other food was very good. We shared a scone and found it tasty but too sweet, however.

Stopped in on a gloriously sunny Sunday morning around 9:30am. This place was hopping, but donât let the lines discourage you, they are pretty quick. Tables are a little tight, but everyone in the joint ... workers and patrons were all friendly and upbeat. You order at the counter and then find a spot and they bring you your food. My friend said his coffees was amazing! Three mugs and took another to go. Avocado toast was more unique than Iâve had. Rather than a spread like, it was whole pieces of avocado, plus pumpkin seeds, some lemon and orange zest and some sort of sauce, but it all worked. My friend had eggs (scrambled and cooked to perfection), potatoes and toast. He was pleased with his meal. Potatoes had good flavor. Overall, a great experience on a busy Sunday morning.
