Came here for a quick ice cream and we werenât disappointed! The ice cream is delicious and creamy and the granitas are so fresh and smooth!

we went to both niny bar and caffe ok gabbiano during our one week stay in letojanni which is a lovely quaint understated seaside resort (i bet nothing is "understated" during the peak holiday season in august but we always avoid the typical holiday crowds everywhere we go) i believe both places are owned by the same elderly couple. to sum it up, niny bar is modern fair .. chic and typical touristy kind of place, while caffe il gabbiano is more down to earth, authentic, tucked away one black from the beach, where locals go and sit around and chit chat with each other. of course my husband and i prefer local places, not to mention ok gabbiano has better gelati, and pastry choices. it is at this place i discovered the delicious arancine, a sicilian delicatessen! best of all, the owner was so nice to us (as we went there every afternoon to have expression and pastry during our week long stay in letojanni) he always gave us extraneous biscuits and just super sweet with two people who cannot speak italian! it was always so fun to sit outside and watch the locals go by or hop in to have a chat! if you ever get to visit letojanni, you have to pay a visit to this cafe. and price is super cheap!

Lettojanni is a really nice, well-kept, seaside resort just up the coast from Taormina. There is a nice square opposite the sea, where Sea Blue sits at the front, right corner. It only has two tables inside, and a bar, but many small, outdoor cafe tables with pretty cloths under umbrellas. The man serving was very friendly and spoke English. We only had cappuccino and sift drinks but the time spent there was lovely. Much nicer and quieter to sit here than in overdeveloped Giardini Naxos in my opinion. Free parking on the street or in the open dirt lot across the road.

We stay in Letojanni every year, and one of our favorite things to do is walk along the beach to Girasole and have coffee and crepes for breakfast.The food and the service at Girasole are both always fabulous - perhaps the best crepes we've ever had, always served with a laugh and a smile.Later in the day we stop by for coffee, and many nights have been finished with a limoncello at Girasole.You can't miss this place - it's the bright yellow building on the beach, halfway through town.
