Food was terrible and not very warm. Scones were rock hard and coffee tasted like the cheapest available. Hi there. Firstly, i can only apologise that you didnât have a very good experience in our cafe. We try to give each customer 100% good food and service every day, However sometimes we do get very busy and unfortunately this hasnât allowed us to give you that 100%.The coffee we use is by a brand named Barista, we have found it is pretty expensive compared to other brands available. We have never had any complaints but yours has been noted and we will look into what could have went wrong with your coffee. Please give us the chance to change your opinion on the food and pop in for a chat & a free Coffee/cake. Sorry again about this and thank you for your custom

The courtyard is a hidden gem, fantastic home baking and home cooked foods. The coffee is to die for, can certainly give the Big names, of which I wont mention, but The Courtyard does not costa much as the other big brands ;-)Always a cheery welcome and a happy smile for the customers a real home from home.Thank you grange bunnies for your comments. Glad you enjoy the coffee, we buy our Massimo beans from "we love coffee" who are based in Glasgow . Please say who you are on your next visit, so that I can put a face to the name. RegardsAngie

The cafe is conveniently located, and much as you'd expect, unimaginative decor. We were there for a light lunch and drink after completing the walk. But when I looked in the "Grab N' Go" section I could only see one sandwich! And the filling didn't appeal. There were several high-cal cakes (not for me) and I could have had a panini at £6. But all I wanted was a sandwich and a drink, so I was disappointed. My brother had the lentil soup and he said it was nice (it looked good) but on a hot day soup didn't appeal either. I had a standard bag of crisps at 95 p and a lemonade - £2 for 500 ml, so not exactly inspiringly good value. I wouldn't rush back

Get there early if you want a seat. Not many in this cosy wee neuk. However, fantastic bread from the Battlefield Bakery.Toasted seeded bread with sweet chilli chicken, GREAT! Good place at this time of year - many hampers for sale. Strong coffee and tray bakes to finish.

First time here. Dropped in for lunch and liked the atmosphere with the stone walls, skylights and modern furniture. I ordered the chicken caesar salad. Very prompt friendly service the food arrived quickly and was really delicious with a generous helping of chicken. The follow-up chocolate tray bake was totally more-ish and lovely coffee. So many things on the menu I'd like to try. Will be back!

This is a very pretty and welcomig cafe in Lanark. The staff were really friendly and the Menu looks very good with interesting mix of Mains and snacks, but we were just in for some cake and drinks. Light and gooey Chocolate Hazelnut Cake slice went down a treat and the Chocolate Orange Brownie had lots of chocolate chips and packed a punch of orange flavour too. We will definitley return another day for lunch. Well worth a visit.

Opened in April 2013, this quirky little lunch Tea Room is situated on the site of the old Daisies Cafe. Kym does all her own fresh home-baking on the premises and uses local suppliers where possible. Our decor is based on the history of Lanark and local
Popped in for a little treat and wasn't disappointed. Very friendly people and a lovely welcome. Nice variety in the Menu and everything is made fresh to order. Good selection of home baking too which all looked delicious. We had the home made Lentil soup (you get a choice of serving size, as well of types of soup) which came with lovely brown crusty bread and some salad, and a baked potato with sweet chilli chicken which came with home made coleslaw, crisps and some salad as well. My daughter enjoyed her potato but was expecting the chicken to be warm, like the potato, but it was very tasty anyway. Drinks were a Diet Irn Bru and a Mug of creamy hot chocolate - you get a choice of size of drinks too, which is another nice little touch. Prices are very reasonable and there was a constant turnover of people visiting. Nicely decorated inside with plenty of room too. Would go back and also recommend it if you are in the area.
