Christmas day in Fieberbrunn and we were desperate. The food on offer at our hotel, Schlosshotel Rosenegg, was less than exciting so we were looking for an alternative. Fortunately for us the Laurens and Lena brasserie on the corner was open all day. It was warm and the staff were welcoming. A ham and cheese focaccio sandwich and salmon quiche served us well for lunch. The service was prompt, unlike at our hotel. We returned for our evening meal - hearty bowls of noodle soup and Austrian goulash soup and, because it was Christmas day, apple struddel and cream. It was an excellent addition to our Christmas day celebrations in Fieberbrunn. We couldn't recommentd Laurens and Lena's highly enough.

We happend to pass at lunch time and decided to have lunch in their garden. And we were not disappointet. Great food, fair prices and above all excellent service. We went to this restaurant 'on spec' one night. It's beautiful decor made us fear that the prices would be very high, but we were hungry and cold so ventured in. We were delighted that we did. The place was not only beautifully decorated, but warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious - and well affordable. It's no surprise then that we returned several times during our holiday!

This was the first visit to an ice cream cafe for our 5 year old. He loves ice cream and it was very exciting choosing from the extensive menu. We ordered 2 dishes and shared between 3 of us as they were quite large and very filling.

It's great to sit outside Eggers especially in the sun. Obviously, outside there are people smoking but that's the way it is. There's also a smoking area inside but it's portioned off from the non-smoking area. Don't be put off by the plastic menu as the food is really nice and both the food and drink are a good price. Very clean and the waiting staff were all nice. All in all, a good place for a snack, lunch or even just a drink. Right in the main square of St. Johan in Tirol, next to the post office.
