A stay in Ketchikan itself can be rewarding, however, as the city is the gateway to Misty Fjords National Monument, an area so beautiful, it is known as "The Yosemite of the North." Our cruise ship let us bring our own drinks aboard. Prices were fair and staff was great. Big selection and easy to get to.

We were in Ketchikan from one of the cruise ships and I spent most of our time hunting through the shops for coffee beans that had been locally roasted as everyone just had the usual stuff from Anchorage or Washington State. Finally found the Fox Hole, clear down the waterfront near the tunnel, was told it was the only place that roasts their own there. It's a humble little place but they had candies, coffee, tea, sandwiches, drinks and pastries plus a smattering of basic travel supplies. Bought a bag of their Fox Hole Blend coffee beans and they were delicious. Pricing is average to good, nice local vibe, friendly staff.

Soul Harvest was a pleasant surprise during our stay in KTN. The location isn't particularly charming, but once you get thru the doors, the warm cozy atmosphere inside makes you forget about the ugly mall and Super 8 outside (and the rain).The coffee is good. The menu includes smoothies and hot breakfast items like quiche and muffins. The lunch menu is just as inviting with wraps and quesadillas. We thought the prices were pretty reasonable, too. The "breakfast" at the Super 8 is a waste of time -- we were excited to find this place right outside the lobby doors. It's a bit of a hike from the cruise ships -- this place is good enough for the locals to keep in business.

This place serves decent diner food with a fifties diner theme. The burger, grilled cheese and milkshakes were all good. A local suggested we try it and the place was pretty busy with other tourists and locals.It's nothing extraordinary, but it was a decent meal.

Recommended by our tour guide and the brewery around the corner, we decided to stop in for a late lunch and were glad we did.Service was casual and friendly, and the food was good. There were several locals eating there which is always a good sign. I had the Halibut and chips and highly recommend it. I don't typically enjoy fish but damn this was tasty! I'm still thinking about it...Great place to take a load off and fuel up while exploring this lovely town!
