On our way back to Sydney from Brissy stopped for a quick lunch. We ordered the steak sandwiches and Lou burger. Large servings at reasonable prices. The atmosphere was 50's themed. Standard cafe food, good for a short break stop.

Stopped here for lunch the other day and met the very friendly new owners Richard and Bobi. Its a beautiful spot overlooking the Macleay River at Kempsey and provides exceptional food. I had the Mediterranean Stack and salad and really enjoyed the meal. All followed by a delicious coffee.We're really glad to hear you enjoyed your lunch Bob, thank you for letting us know. Ordered a works hamburger from an unhappy worker. I know it was early but surely a smile or pleasant word wouldnt go astray. Wasnt busy only one other couple in place and as I didnt feel welcome I went for a walk and visited a few shops while burger was being cooked. Came back after 10 - 15mins and hamburger had barely been started. 10 mins later and finally ready, handed to me by a lovely young girl, the older employee should get some customer tips from her.Burger was nice but due to person who served me I wont be back, lots of lovely places in Kempsey to buy food and be made feel welcome..
