Temporarily Closed (until August 5th) due to maintenance. Another great season has passed, and a new one begins to bloom at Shields' Cafe. For those of you who have come to our store and tried our incomparable date shake, watched the Romance and Sex Life
Things were a bit hectic today. Part of order was missing and no split checks. Some didn't like the chipotle hollandaise sauce but I enjoyed the crab cakes. Ice tea is flavored. Mimosas and bloody Mary's are expensive and nothing special. Stuffed dates are very pricey but love the side salad with dates. There us live music. Have enjoyed it more on other occassions.Hello Ms. Sue, thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that part of your order was missing and would like to know if we addressed this issue for you during your visit. With Mother's Day being one of the busiest days of the year, if not the busiest, we do understand that things may sometimes become hectic especially for our kitchen. It is also for this reason that we do not offer separate checks on these busy holidays although we do our best to accomodate this request even for large groups throughout the season. Please note that we do have daily drink specials in which you can get your mimosa at $5 instead of our regular $8 price and 50% off all bottles of wine, etc. We want you to enjoy your visit every single time and would love for you to return soon with a reservation taken by management so that we can make up for your less than excellent experience. Please feel free to call us at 760-775-0902 as we would love to speak to you so that we can make things right. We hope to hear from you soon. Thank you. -A. M.

My husband went the original Louiseâs Pantry in Palm Springs as a boy, so it was fun to find this one, literally around the corner from our second home in La Quinta! The breakfasts are pricy but include huge portions! Yummy!
