Things to do in Hythe
The services are a convenient stop for channel tunnel or ferry traffic, with freight segregated. The spacious facilities are generally quiet unless there is a coach tour pick up due. Most of the eateries there rely on communal seating outside, but this establishment immediately to the left, has its own glazed inner haven of tranquility, easily missed. The produce is good, the coffee organic. The bacon roll/pasty & coffee deals are barely more than the typical coffee cost, with lots else on offer. Each time I visit, the staff are always obliging and pleasant. Above all, the tables are cleared regularly.

We called it here whilst walking through Hythe High Street. I chose it as we only wanted something inexpensive and light to eat.The venue was clean, light and airy and the staff pleasant. The food was served up quickly and just what we expected. This cafe is obviously quite popular as most of the seats/tables were occupied, although I think this could be down to the reasonable prices though, as it can be quite expensive to eat out in Hythe, even in a cafe.

We stopped here for some lunch following a long walk round the park. We had our dog with us and were told we could eat indoors but we were quite happy sitting outside. We chose the veggie lasagne and veggie shepherds pie, both very reasonably priced at £3.50 each. The coffee was also very good with friendly service. There is quite a selection on the menu and also some very tempting cakes.Well worth a visit.

Very busy, family run tea room/restaurant. We had the smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs, reasonable value @ £24 for 3 persons, including 2 x pots of tea. Quite a comprehensive menu choice, homemade cakes as well. Pleasant staff, rushed off their feet. Good sign, in these times of economic flux and uncertainty. Cosy setting, well maintained and a little rustic charm, situated on the main drag, could watch the world go by.

This charming bistro style restaurant/cafe is possibly the best breakfast/lunch venue in East Kent. And what a wonderful welcome from host John and wife Susie. Cooking here is precise and the menu varied but not overloaded. Real coffee and properly brewed espressos (hard to find in the UK). Try the Ginger's breakfast, it is truly splendid, and great value. Sometimes hard to find a table, but that's because the place is so good.
