Things to do in Hope
Newly refurbished family run business serving Breakfast, dinner, barista style coffee, speciality tea's and freshly made cakes.
We popped in here before we walked around the gorgeous Castleton. Although the menu isn't extensive, what we did have was lovely. We were hoping for the afternoon tea but it said that they didn't serve that till either 2 or 3pm which was a shame, but nonetheless! I had the cheese and red onion panini which came with a side salad - everything was done fresh and it was yummy! Average prices for something like that. Would recommend.Hi, we really appreciate your review thank you very much! :) our menu states we do afternoon tea from 1pm daily, although if we arenât busy we are happy to do this at an earlier time if we are asked! As we are quite a new family run business we are still learning and hoping to change the menu soon we will bare this in mind :) hope to see you again!

Welcome to The Yondermann cafe where Julie, Alasdair and team will offer you an authentic Derbyshire experience in the beautiful Peak District. â Our cafe has operated on this site for over 60 years and since we have owned the cafe in 2008 we have strived
Visited with my daughter - sheâs been nagging me to try out the breakfast here since visiting a while ago. So - if you like your full English and you like it large then this is a good spot. The board shows quite a number of size options for both the standard breakfast and the Yondermann breakfast - the latter featuring extras such as black pudding, oat cake and comes with tea or coffee. We arrived just after opening , 08:00, for Sunday breakfast and there were already a number of breakfasters tucking in. Itâs not a fancy cafe, pretty utilitarian in fact but the quality of breakfast is good - the only thing that let it down ( in my opinion) was the coffee wasnât great. But that said really enjoyed the Large Yondermann complete with toast and was sufficiently stuffed to avoid the need for eating until evening meal. As in all things you get what you pay for - not the cheapest but worth a go. Will be back.

Super little cafe perfectly located in the heritage village of Eyam in the Peak District. We bake gorgeous cakes and cook tasty savouries 7 days a week for you to enjoy, using fantastic local produce. Our coffee is Fairtrade, organic and rainforest certif
Very pleasant cafe with a good range of food. However we thought the cakes were expensive - a slice of carrot cake at £3.75 was somewhat too steep for us (no prices displayed but we were glad we asked before ordering) so we just had drinks which were nice. Friendly staff and good service so well worth a visit, but watch those prices. Many thanks for your review; just a comment re our prices - all our cakes are small batch & hand made on the premises from premium quality ingredients (butter/free range eggs/real vanilla extracts etc). Portions are generous and customers often share a piece of our layer cakes because of that and traybake prices start at 2.50.Prices are also inclusive of VAT, reflect our commitment to sustainable business practices which attract higher overheads (compostable cups etc; increased recycling costs and paying staff fairly and above minimum wage).Iâm glad you enjoyed your drinks and experienced good service. Best wishes, Sara

We had truly amazing waffles, the banoffee one was so gorgeous. The service was great, the location was just round from the church.

Visit the herb centre cafe a fair bit and have enjoyed the food their (only eat the Tuna Melt) not sure if regular staff are on holiday or have left but it wasn't quite as good this time , was too cold where cheese not melted enough and cheese was a lot sparser than normal portions .Parnters' lunch wasn't as good as normal either sadly. However is always great to sit and watch the birds so may go back at some point hopefully the regular cook/chef will be back at the helm :)

Ended up here after leaving the first place we tried due to uncleared tables/inattentive staff and so glad we did! It was full but we were immediately greeted by the staff and shown to a lovely outdoor area. Despite being busy we were served quickly and the waitress was lovely and happy to chat and also tell us more about the church, which overlooks the outdoor area. The drinks (teas) were brought out first, soon followed by our food, which was delicious. The tea was served with plenty of milk - none of the usual stingy measures that barely make a cupful - and plenty of extra hot water for top ups. This is a lovely, friendly place with a great atmosphere and fabulous food. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Castleton :)Thank you for your lovely review, and yes I do remember talking to you about churches, cars and potato rumblers!!hope to meet you again.Regards Claire and David

Cintra's is a licensed cafe situated in the popular Peak District of Hathersage. Seating for up to 44 inside but with the added surprise of the large, beautiful, secluded, dog friendly tea garden at the rear of the cafe. Cintra's offers a varied menu to s
It's been a long time since we visited the Peak District and even longer since we went to hathersage. The amount of tea rooms/coffee houses has gone through the roof with what seems one every two hundred yards so the choice is fantastic. However finding one that is concerned about food and quality of service rather than keeping up with trends is very difficult. We called in at cintra and found a lovely place with excellent staff a typical English tea room with an hidden garden out side that was lovely to dine in. It really is hard to find anything to fault in this place and it's one I could definitely recomend to any of me in the area. The coffee was very acceptable and the cheese, bacon and maple panini was delicious. Thankyou to the staff here you made our day and visit to hathersage well worth while.Thankyou so much for your lovely review. Cintraâs has been a tea room since 1937 and I have always believed itâs important to keep it as traditional as possible, offering good quality food with an excellent service.I am going to share your kind comments with all the staff and hope you will visit again soon.

Fully Licensed Tea Rooms, serving breakfasts and lunches. We serve an array of homemade cakes, with a wide selection of hot & cold drinks available.
We enjoyed delicious ham, eggs and chips followed by equally delicious apple pie served by friendly, smiling staff. And we were fascinated by the story told on the menu of the history of the building, including the fact that for many years there was a public footpath which went right through it and which was used by funeral processions going to the church. Now internally it is light and bright with an ideal ambience for a relaxing lunch. To be recommended.

Short, seasonal & contemporary menu & speciality coffee in the heart of the Peak District. Pop up food evenings
We decided to drive out to this cafe from Stockport on Sunday 7/7/19.We arrived to no welcome, menu is limited when looking for healthy options. A good point is the blackboard that states local suppliers. I opted for the Avocado on sourdough & flat white my husband opted for the cheese & onion toastie plus a pot of tea. My husband went to order & pay and before he came back to the table a young girl arrived to inform us that my choice was off the menu. The young girl asked if I would come to the till to order an alternative and sort out the difference in cost. I ordered a cheese & ham toastie which was ok but far too much cheese for both of us and greasy. The coffee was delicious. We thought about having a cake but the cabinet was nearly empty and what was there was not appealing.Customer service aspect of our visit rates at zero due to being unfriendly and the young lad clearing the tables had reprimanded the girl 3 times in front of others whilst we kept refilling our water glasses. Very unprofessional and not fair on the girl who was nervous when she arrived at our table. The lad clearing the tables had no smile and no interaction with anyone not even eye contact. We left without a goodbye or thank-you from anybody. We then went into Castleton and went into another cafe and had tea & cake, it was worlds apart. We both have 35+ years each of customer service skills and number one rule is make sure the customer feels valued and you are grateful for their custom. HiI am sorry you were disappointed with your visit to us, particularly as we pride ourselves on good customer service. We are a casual dining establishment though and you order at the till point, which might be why you were not met as you walked in.We offer a short fresh menu to provide quality and reduce food waste. As it was a Sunday we were extremely busy and it meant some items had sold out, so I appreciate you could not get your first choice and as all cakes are homemade there may have been a reduced selection as I said we had been very busy.I am sorry the grilled cheese sandwich did not meet your expectations, however it is in the American style and we get many reviews saying people love them, therefore I would say this must have come down to your personal taste. However I am pleased you enjoyed your coffee!I have to say I am a bit confused on your comments over a member of staff being reprimanded as we have a great friendly team and I was not aware of such an incident at the time, nor did any member of staff mention anything. I am sorry if you felt they did not interact with you as much as you would have liked, however on busy days we do like to make sure tables are cleared efficiently.Of course all staff should be friendly and approachable and I do not believe your experience is representative of the Grasshopper, which is shown In the many positive reviews we get.Of course if you mentioned you had any issues at the time we would have done our best to resolve them.
