Betteâs is a good diner style restaurant for breakfast. A few of us met for breakfast on the last day of a get together we had in Hood River. Since people were leaving for airports and road trips, we appreciated the quick service along with the good food. I enjoyed the crab Benedict, and I donât remember any complaints from anyone else about their food!

Well I just so happened to see a back cover advertisement about this restaurant on a magazine at our Air BnB. The steak and eggs looked so good I couldn't sleep the night before. Torn between a skillet and a omelette as I always am, seeing a fellow patron's food arrive and the waitress recommendation I went with what Van Halen would call the "best of both world's".....the Farmer's Omelet! Let's just say if you're in the state of Oregon period - get to Egg River ASAP!!

We are locals and recently discovered Kickstand for breakfast. My husband and I often share a meal and at Kickstand we really like the Burrito Bowl. It has burrito ingredients, but without the wrap and served in a bowl. Needing just a bit more to eat, we like to add a fresh pastry to complete the meal. At Kickstand one orders when you walk in and then find a place to sit (either inside or outside) while waiting for your meal to be delivered. Parking is a little limited.

Our party of six enjoyed a break from driving through the Columbia River Gorge at this small eatery. The (organic) food and drinks are as advertised and made to order on the spot. Nothing spectacular but solid good quality and decent value for money. If you have to wait in line for the single unisex bathroom you'll be in the way of shoppers patronizing the store section of this establishment. Some of them were a tad aggressive.

Popped in yesterday for late lunch on another dreary, wet day. I knew this spot would be just the 'ticket' to brighten my day & provide a much-needed healthy respite. Had a half avocado, apple salad with chicken; perfection. Greens were fresh as was the dressing. My palate was satisfied as were my spirits by the surrounding charm and light in the cafe/garden area out back. A sparrow sat in the corner chirping away merrily; he never encroached on me but was having a great time cleaning up minute left overs on the ground beneath long-gone patrons. I also splurged on freshly made key lime pie. Best in a VERY LONG TIME. Always, the staff are friendly. It's like being welcomed "home" every time I land there. If you're ready for a place where gardening and good food resides, go!
