A small but interesting menu - only in Danish but the delightful staff were happy to translate. As well as sandwiches and nice-looking cakes there were hot and cold platters. We had the delicious cold platter of three different types of herring with a small glass of schnapps! As well as wine there was a selection of unusual beers. The space looks a bit cold and uninviting but don't let that put you off.

Had a beautiful meal in this restaurant. One of the best steaks I have ever had surrounded by beautiful mashed potato. Lovely dish. Amelie was behind the bar and what a pleasant happy friendly person she was. The place is in a great spot and very pleasant sitting outside enjoying the ambiance.

Krone B is the restaurant of Kronborg in Helsinore. We serve 'smørrebrød' (danish open-faced sandwiches) and a variety of our own favorite dishes. Our focus is in great taste and produce in season.
We were there on a monday afternoon. not terribly busy. we sat there for half an hour trying to catch the attention of the two servers working there, but they completely ignored us. never even got a menu. other tables arrived after us but were served almost right away while we kept waving at the servers who refused to look our way.after half an hour we got up and left. there's a cheaper place just outside the castle and we had our food within minutes. i live about 30 minutes away from Kronborg so i visit often whenever we have visitors from abroad. i will never take my guests to this place again. you're better off going to the walking area just outside the castle where there are several very nice places to eat.Hi Allan,Thank you for your review. We are new owners of Krone B and would like to see you again for a visit and hopefully show that we are able to do better than the previous owners.Best regardsDaniel - Krone B

It's a really nice cafe to enjoy some good coffee and a piece of cake while relaxing in one of their super comfy armchairs. The soothing music in the background allows for pleasant conversation, and the waiter was really helpful translating stuff from Danish for us. Definitely worth it after a good walk around the castle!

We were visiting the nearby Kronborg Castle and decided to walk through Helsingoer as it was so close. It was a wet and cold day so we ducked into this cozy little cafe to warm up and have a snack. We had only been in Denmark for a few hours and we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff who spoke English very well.At first we were just going to have something warm to drink - my girlfriend had a tea and I had a marvellous hot chocolate - but the food smelled so nice coming from the kitchen - so we ordered some french fries. We got a heaping portion served up with ketchup and mayonnaise and they were nicely spiced too!It was a very relaxing atmosphere and we sat and watched people out on the street in the nice pedestrian area that is loaded with nice shops and restaurants. It was a great place to experience our first meal in Denmark and we both highly recommend it.

Cafe Olai is the most hyggeligt place I've been in Denmark. I travel to Denmark twice a year, often for weeks at a time. The Danes understand warm, communal feeling, and this place epitomizes it. The soft lighting, friendly service, blankets on the chairs, and Danish comfort food all combine to make Cafe Olai a wonderful place to have dinner. Friends of mine from Helsingør tell me that when they were kids they used to show up there and be offered free ice cream.
