We've lived near this place a couple of years but never tried it, so we went in for Hamden Restaurant Week. A small place for sure, just 4 tables inside plus a few more outside. Everything was excellent! My Jerk Chicken was flavorful and spicy, and the Chicken Mushroom Crepes were delicious. Both my companion and I had the goat cheese salad, which was very tasty. It had Serrano ham-wrapped figs, and my only complaint about our whole experience was that the figs didn't have much fig flavor. For dessert my companion had the lemon curd trifle, and I had the truffle brownie a la mode; both were excellent. All in all, totally enjoyable, we'll certainly return. BTW, the place is only open for lunch, plus Saturday breakfast an Sunday brunch.
On my way home from the new Haven Unitarian meetinghouse, I stumbled upon this sweet little gem of a coffee shop tucked away in the back of a bookstore. Very relaxed, casual atmosphere, as my barista doodled on his ipad and then took my order. Nothing fancy, but very comfortable. I ordered an iced latte and the shots were pulled with perfection and then he did something I really appreciated...he use very little ice. I almost asked for more, since it was a steamy hot day outside, but decided to trust his move. Delicious! I really think the lack of ice kept the creamy coolness of the milk and espresso well balanced. Next time I'll carve out a bigger slice of time and enjoy the bookstore and a coffee...it looked like a great book shop!

This is a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. It's great!
We needed to make a trip to this area and using Trip Advisor found this gem for brunch. My daughter raved about lobster Benedict and I satisfied my sweet tooth with the yummy cinnamon bun French toast. Coffee was good and bacon crisp as ordered. Staff was pleasant and capable.
