Wir haben Hot dogs und Pommes gegessen. War ok. Es sollte ja auch nur ein kleiner Zwischensnack sein und dafür war es vollkommen ok und günstig. Dafür war das Eis (Kugeln in Waffel) sehr lecker.

My sister suggested a visit to the little island Aarø and that we should have our lunch at Brummers Gård, a mere 10 minutes walk from the ferry berth, while there. A very good choice as the sun shone happily from an almost cloudless sky and we could be seated outside in the yard. I chose 'Smagen af Aarø' (The taste of Aarø), a platter with 'rimmet laks' (A special gravadlax), smoked prawns, a sausage made from beef and roe deer, chicken salad, salami, cheese and marmalade. All coming along with delicious accompaniments and plenty of homemade bread with butter, oil/balsamic vinegar 'dip' and sea salt. A 'Brummers Brew' beer turned out to be an excellent companionI haven't tasted anything this tasty for a very long time. Period. Although each dish may seemed a bit on the tiny side, they together were more than enough to fill me up. At a price of 19 Euros for the platter and 8 Euros for the beer it was a real bargain

They were supposed to stop serving the lunch menu at 1 pm, but although we arrived at ten minutes past, the very friendly staff nevertheless agreed to let us choose from it. The 'luxury platter' was wonderful, with a huge array of tasty food, beautifully presented and exceptional value. We needed a hearty stroll to the castle and back to walk it off! We would not hesitate to return.

This is one of the only cafés, that's situated in the pedestrian street of Haderslev - most other restaurants are located at "Torvet" - the old market square south of the cathedral. It has outside seating, which makes it great for snacking and peaople-watching.we came for the brunch and were not disappointed. Bountiful, well prepared and tasty!
