Grevena (Greek: Γρεβενά, Grevená, [ɣreveˈna], Aromanian: Grebini) is a town and municipality in Western Macedonia, Northern Greece, capital of the Grevena regional unit. The town's current population is 13,374 citizens (2011). It lies about 400 kilometres (249 miles) from Athens and about 180 km (112 miles) from Thessaloniki. The municipality's population is 25,905. Grevena has had access to the Egnatia Odos since the early 2000s, which now connects Igoumenitsa with Thessaloniki and Alexandroupoli at the border with Turkey. Mountains surround the municipality, which is situated by the river Greveniotikos, which itself flows into the Aliakmon. Other significant towns in the municipality are Amygdaliés and Méga Seiríni. Grevena Municipal Museum is located in the town.

If the journey brings you to Grevena, you should definitely visit Fuit. You will feel like your cozy home from bartenders, waiters, owner to everyday customers. It has a European sense like no one else has in the area.Try without doubt:homemade PANCAKES!!!!!!!!!A taste of paradise will convince you. Bet you will ask for more!

Our tour bus took a morning rest/comfort stop here as we drove from Meteora to Thessaloniki. Two other tour buses arrived just before us so it was a bit crowded lining up for the WC and the coffee/snack bar. English was not well spoken so it took a while to get exactly what I had requested. An Americano coffee with milk set me back two euros. However, it was nice coffee.Seating was adequate for 1 bus but not 3. 3 buses likewise overwhelmed the serving capacity so my order took a while to arrive. Outside seating ambience was nicer than inside, but it was a bit too cool for that when we stopped. Inside seemed a bit dingy and dull compared to other tour bus stops we made in rural Greece. Our guide told us that this stop was in the middle of nowhere. Given its apparent isolation we canât complain too loudly about its minor deficiencies. Three stars out of five.
