Read reviews re this place and was looking forward to trying it out. Website advertised quick lunch menu. Ham cheese tomato sandwich toasted was doughy, totally unimaginative. Sweet potato fries soft and gooey.Pizza burned. Calamari about 10 pieces and the rest was rocket.A truly awful experience Never againI am in disbelieve reading this review, at least be true to yourself and tell the truth to the public. Our place that has won various accolades 2017,2018 & 2019 certificate of excellence Herald Sun awards for the quality of food, surely we could get 3/4 or even 2/4 but all seem in disbelieve.First of all we have been out of stock of sweet potatoes for over a month.Second you didn't order the Calamari, Pizza or Toastie as we are well known for that as its cooked in the wood fired. We are a family restaurant and both my wife and I served your table and when the meals were cleared, the plates were empty. The truth is that your table ordered 4 meals of our express lunch menu which non of the meals mentioned were on,with each meal having a variation to it and all adding 4 separate sides to which your were charged an extra $2.50 each, a total of $10 to your bill. When you saw the bill is when you complained about the food in the hope of getting a refund, such a low blow on your behalf to tarnish a 5 star rating establishment.I will leave it to the public to judge the truthiness of your review.

This was a lovely cafe off the main strip. Nice selection of food to go or eat in choices. Being short for time I was made a fresh chicken toastie. It was a very hot day. Water freely available. Cool and peaceful inside. Looked like many locals were eating in as well. Recommend this cafe

Came here post hike because the 3 places I wanted to try were closed for the Christmas break. I'd never heard anything (good or bad) about Rocotillos, so had never really considered it as a place to eat.Rookie error.Staff are crazy friendly, big breakfasts are HUGE, coffee is great (and it's a double win to find somewhere that has non soy/almond lactose free milk), and my husband was stoked that he got the excess in the metal cup for his chocolate milkshake.Poached eggs were a tad over cooked (in that range between hard and soft), but the fried eggs were perfect (cooked white, runny yolk), and I don't know if the chef is psychic or what, but both servings of bacon were cooked perfectly to our taste, despite not having been specified (husbands super crispy, mine slightly more cooked than is standard). Also, this is possibly the first time ever we've both commented on how delicious the breakfast sausage was. And we both acknowledged the fact it's not something we'd normally notice, so the sausage was definitely amazing.Atmosphere is lovely, and the staff have obviously spent considerable time getting to know their regulars. Husband also noted that the noise level is perfect, especially given the close quarters- loud enough that you don't feel like you're eating at your cranky aunts, but quiet enough to speak in normal voices to have a conversation.Very impressed. Only down side for me was the fact I got a take away coffee in a keep cup (that is one of those leak free ones) that hasn't been done up properly (lid not threaded right so it was Askew), so when I put it in my handbag to transport, it leaked through my bag. Partially my fault for not checking, but one does expect coffee lids to be put on right. We walked out stuffed (I left some food which is generally unheard of) and very happy with our breakfast choice. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in for breakfast recently with a friend. Havenât been to this place since it was changed to a more casual eatery. I much prefer the new unpretentious setup and hope it does well. The staff were very friendly and food was served in generous portions and was very nice. Loved the coffee too. My pancakes were fluffy and some interesting fruit was added, my friend ordered the eggs bend and she too enjoyed hers. Opens for breakfast and lunch only, so if you are in the area worth popping in. My only criticism would be that the place lacked atmosphere and it was a little cold, this could be easily remedied if they put the fire on and added some soft ambient music. We took advantage of the knee blankets and that made us feel more confortable. In summer this place would be lovely too, with its outside river view seating. In winter they need to cosy it up somewhat. I will go back.

This is our favourite local cafe.Awesome food, sublime coffee and my type of music.Hits the spot every time. The fact that this cafe is out of the way and yet is always busy is testament to its quality. Also, it is one of the only cafes were I donât stick to the one menu items. Everything is delicious!

Visited with a friend for lunch recently. Nice venue in an otherwise mediocre location - right on a busy road. Hot chocolate served warm. Lunch took forever and we werenât told of a 30 minute wait. So we made enquiries why it was taking so long - we shouldâve been told apparently. We were then advised that our Turkish bread would be substituted with milk buns. Surely we should have been advised this when ordering? We definitely wouldâve changed our order. Our BLTâs were okay but not what we had hoped for. Disappointed and we wonât be back.

Step into eeny meeny and be greeted with a warm atmosphere, friendly smiles, and the enticing aromas of a creative kitchen and superb coffee. The interesting Specials Board is always delectable and the secluded courtyard is an oasis in Frankston.
My husband and I regularly visit Eeny Meeny for Sunday breakfast. The food, coffee & tea are always stunning. The Chef regularly puts a breakfast special on the board, some are a bit weird but most are as yummy as the regulars on the menu.

We came here for a birthday lunch with a large group knowing that our visitors will be impressed by the stunning views which they definitely were. The beautiful glass windows provide an uninterrupted view over Port Phillip Bay with the Melbourne city skyline in the distance. Unfortunately that's were the positives ended. The service was painful. We had two middle aged ladies serving us and I can't recall a smile during the entire time we were there. They looked stressed even though it wasn't busy and took an eternity to take our orders. The food was just as disappointing despite the generous portions. My seafood paella was basically a tasteless soggy risotto and the chicken dishes were very dry. Might be back for a glass wine and salad but I don't think I'd be rushing back to dine here.
