This was a nice place to grab a fairly quick to go lunch. They had various bagels, many kinds and were able to do a vegan one. The service was good, the atmosphere fine. I enjoyed my lunch. Prices are decent. Thanks so much! We can't wait to help you again.
Mawâs Produce is close to Boone, North Carolina (between Boone and Grandfather Mountain) on Highway 105 in a tiny town called Foscoe. It's open May thru December. Hugely popular with the locals. They offer locally grown fruits and vegetables, homemade relishes (try the artichoke relish to spice up sandwiches, goat cheese, etc), homemade cheese, cakes, pies, jams, biscuits and breads. I took home to St Louis some jams, pickled beets, tomatoes, and peaches. Friends are demanding that I bring more home next time I visit western North Carolina. I will!

My wife, adult son and I had lunch at this spot during a brief visit to Blowing Rock.An unpretentious building on the main street, we were greeted and welcomed in a most friendly manner. I chose the day's special, my wife BLT salad and our son the pulled pork sandwich. All was presently presented and delicious. The bill was surprisingly lean. A great lunch spot!

This is the place for lunch! Everything is house made, REALLY. I enjoyed the crab cake sandwich and my husband went for the childhood favorite fried bologna sandwich, Said it was the best he had ever ate. The decor and layout of the restaurant was very comfortable and peaceful. Special shout out to Kim for all the great recommendations.

We had Sunday lunch at the Banner Elk Cafe while attending a wedding locally. It is a very popular eatery with lots to choose from. Prices are very reasonable. Prepare to wait for a table during peak hours.

I saw this amazing lady, Renee Boughman on U.N.C. TV. Our public broadcasting station here in NC. Talking about her F.A.R.M. cafe. Her concept of everyone can eat regardless of financial status & pay it forward is just lovely. You can volunteer at the cafe to eat if you don't have money. She is an amazing spirit & does business with local farms. I was determined to meet her while I was on vacation in the mountains around Boone, NC & check out the food as well. Let me tell you, she did not disappoint! The food was so fresh & so delicious, I wish I could eat there often, but we live 4 hours away at Ft. BRAGG, NC. If you are ever in Boone, NC. Please check out the F.A.R.M. Cafe! You won't regret it. The people that work there are very warm & inviting also.

Had lunch today with friends on the patio at Melanieâs. Decor inside is retro, a bit funky, and fun. But today, the patio was lovely â a perfect spot for a casual, relaxing meal â plus people, and dog, watching. Except for the cold, hand-cut fries, the food was tasty. Service was very good. Enjoyed watching folks, and pets, walking by as well as the sweet pup at the next table from Florida who was riding out Dorian with human parents in Boone. Weâll happily return to Melanieâs.
