4.2I clearly havenât got out enough. We found ourselves in Flinders on the shores of WesternPort. Itâs such a lovely sleepy little village here. Thereâs a bit of class on show. This is a gem of a cafe. It would be very at home anywhere in hipsterville Melbourne. Itâs a cracker. A smart, bright and very nicely fitted out modern cafe. Itâs really impressive inside. It also has a gorgeous outside area including one of those beautiful covered areas with an ornamental grapevine on it. You canât fault the style. Itâs a comfy cafe whether cool or hot. We arrived at 2.25pm, 5 minutes before closing time on a Monday. They could have easily invited us to knick off but instead greeted us with a smile and happily served us. My long black was a beauty, my partnerâs flat white âmagnificentâ - a direct quote. I eyed off the coconut tea cake enviously. It looked and tasted excellent. The service from the young server was charming from start to finish. Weâd give her an immediate pay rise. We liked the look of the all day brekkie menu and the lunch menu here. Weâll definitely be back.Well, between the "charming" customer service, our "impressive" interior styling, a couple of "magnificent" Commonfolk coffees, an "excellent" sweet treat and an early week visit, it seems like you were pretty happy with everything :)Thank you for taking the time to share in detail your experience of visiting Georgie Bass. We look forward to welcoming you back sooner rather than later, and can highly recommend the chicken tagine off our new menu to keep your insides warm going into the cooler months!

Authentic country charm with delicious food and welcoming staff this tin and timber shed is a destination not to be missed. The Merricks General Wine Store is a Peninsula icon established in 1924. Today it serves as the Cellar Door for Baillieu, Elgee Par
Friends casual lunch at the General store. On a cold wet and horrible day, ask to sit near the open fire!First start with a wine tasting session adjacent to the restaurant.Great local drops covering all varieties. Pick a nice bottle or two to have with lunch.6 of us started with the sharing plate of anti pasta which was generous and delicious. We settled on the local Pinot noir to accompany lunch. All enjoyed the chicken pie and sadly Iâve forgotten the name of my lunch, (like a terrine style) but yummy!Atmosphere was great as the place was busy and full.Highly recommend a visit.
