Reviews on Cafe food in Enschede, Overijssel Province, The Netherlands. Enschede (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɛnsxəˌdeː] ( listen)), also known as Eanske [ˈɛːnskə] in the local dialect of Twents, is a municipality and a city in the eastern Netherlands in the province of Overijssel and in the Twente region. The municipality of Enschede consisted of the city of Enschede until 1935, when the rural municipality of Lonneker, which surrounded the city, was annexed after the rapid industrial expansion of Enschede which began in the 1860s and involved the building of railways and the digging of the Twentekanaal.

Great spot in the middle of Enschede. Nice heated terrace, relaxing place to drink something or chose some nice burgers or sate or other delicious dishes from the menucard. Great spot for a break when you are shopping or prepare yourselve to drink something before you go enjoy the nightlife of Enschede. Always crowded and value for money.

Eet- en Bierencafé De Beiaard is the place to be for an amazing selection of craft beer and awesome pubfood.
This is a gem of a beer bar in Enschede, NL. The selection is massive and will not disappoint. The interior has lots of character and the outdoor terrace looks out on the old town square. Plenty of food on offer, from bits & bites to sandwiches and more. The Bitter Bällchen were delicious and the vlaamse frites heavenly. The servers were sufficient but a little too pushy, which is strange given the typical European-style of letting the guest drive the visit. Nevertheless I am totally looking forward to visiting this place again. Beer recommendations: Duchesse de Bourgogne (although be prepared as it is a bit sour tasting) and Gulden Draak. Also tried a Palm, which usually doesn't disappoint. Check this place out if you find yourself in Enschede!!

As a local, I come here very regularly. They have the best coffee and cappuccino of Enschede. Your host is originally German, but has taken her baking skills to Holland, so prepare for some very good German kuchen. The place has a few places to sit (inside and outside) and also sells a wide variety of coffee and tea for at home.
We first time visited 'De Brasserie' in Glanerbrug (next to Enschede and the German border) and were very pleasantly surprised. The ambiente in very nice and the staff extremely friendly. The concept of the menu is a bid 'different'. All dishes have their 'normal' price but it is also possible to go for a set-menu where you get 3 dishes: starter, main course and dessert. For the main course you can then choose between food from the 'Bronze', 'Silver' or 'Gold' list. These three then have a different price to be paid. We ordered Carpaccio as starter, then Spare-ribs from the 'Bronze'list and Dame-Blanche for desert. Other from our group ordered the 'Chefs soup' (this week a Curry soup), Schitzel (from the Bronze list) and Butter-fish (also from the Bronze list). All were very exited about the quality and taste of the food, the (short) time between the dishes being served and the additional vegetables and fries served. A great experience and surely worth a very good recommendation. Being Dutch, we would almost rate the restaurant as being 'non-typical Dutch' due to its quality and very resonable price setting!
