Things to do in Duncan
This is a really funky coffee shop in a turn of the century style jumble of buildings right on the side of the TCH in the Cobble Hill area. The staff is absolutely stellar, they have a very good selection of goodies, and the espresso is definitely passable. The only detraction (and it's really not the management's fault) is that the washrooms are easily a hundred feet on the other side of a big outdoor square and very hard to find.
this little place on the corner in downtown Duncan is mad of love - the space 9 kinda bare bone but comfy) The food is the real star, you would NEVER know unless you were told - that it's vegan ! When I was there last mo. I had soup of the day (DELICIOUS!) and fresh out of the oven SAUSAGE ROLLS -- she didn't tell me they were vegan, came over after I had eaten some of my lunch and asked how I liked it - GREAT ! "The sausage rolls are vegan she said ! i WAS BLOWN AWAY - I really wouldn't have known ! The food is made with love, baked goods are awesome and I look forward to stopping here whenever I'm in Duncan on biz ! Give it a try !

The staff were really friendly in this comfortable local cafe. Went in for breakfast and it was fine - reasonably priced and okay. Decor is fun with old photos and model airplanes suspended from the ceiling. Really appreciated that the kitchen put together a breakfast even though we arrived 10 minutes past 11:00 a.m. (Breakfast was only served till 11).

We met friends here for breakfast. The restaurant is very small with table crammed in so there is always someone trying to squeeze by. The breakfast menu is very limited but the breakfast panini was tasty. The coffee is good. Prices are okay. I recommend purchasing from here but take out, don't eat in as it's too noisy and crowded to enjoy a meal.

When you finally find this little place, "sandwiched" between a Vietnamese and a Greek restaurant, you might wonder just how long it has been here. It looks even older than the building it's in! However, it is perfectly comfortable, the service is absolutely wonderful, friendly, and helpful, and best of all, the offerings from limited menu are delicious! The bread is house made and absolutely memorable, and the fillings are ample, fresh, and scrumptious. I especially loved the chicken pieces which were totally melt in your mouth tender. It's a great stop for a fantastic sandwich!

Fries are fantastic but the food is average nothing special but itâs absolutely on the edible side of average. Unique flavours and recipes (who puts almonds in egg salad) Be warned they use miracle whip(whipped dressing) not mayonnaise (helmans) for those who are picky like me.

Nestled in the tranquility of picturesque Genoa Bay on Vancouver Island, about 1 hour north of Victoria and only 20 minutes from Duncan, the Genoa Bay Café has rewarded guests with one of the most delightful dining experiences in the Cowichan Valley.
Four of us had lunch here recently. Lovely sunny day so we sat outside on the deck overlooking the marina. Lots of serving staff standing around when we entered the restaurant. Promptly seated and the waitress was friendly but in a way that was more suited to entering a bar. If you are charging high prices then the service should match. Spinach salad was good but the calamari had way too much coating on it but the portion was generous. The huge disappointment were the lamb burgers which we all had. Very little flavour, lacking seasoning and the texture and mouthfeel was awful. Not sure how they make these but I see that another reviewer mentions rice flour as a filler. Had to ask several times with different servers to get water glasses refilled. The prices do not match the service or the quality of food so unfortunately we will not be going back in the near future.

Organic and biodynamic farm and cafe. A real farm to table restaurant.
This is a small operation but everything was welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. My baby loved everything I gave her from my plate. Child/infant friendly. The prices are super reasonable. I loved everything except the dessert which was just ok for me (I am a really decent baker so I have pretty high standards when it comes to I could have made that at home). All in all I 100% recommend.
