Last visit I had bacon and eggs on toast and an americano. Eggs were as requested and the bacon cooked properly. Lovely brew. Friendly and efficient staff

We had wandered around Marple doing a bit of shopping. Bit confusing as to whether it was waitress or counter ordering. Took a menu off a customer who was paying and realised the system. Ordered and were served by a pleasant lass. Food and drink came quickly and was excellent. Friendly atmosphere that catered for a varied clientele. No problems about returning. Note that some reviews are not complimentary but saw none of the problems quoted.

Lovely bright, clean cafe primarily specialising in cakes. Small selection of cakes but always very fresh. The owner makes spectacular made to order celebration cakes and also does afternoon tea.. currently doing a Harry Potter theme which is very clever for kids and Halloween.. Visit if in town. Good hot chocolate, good coffee, delicious cakes.

Went today for tea and cake, was recommended so had high hopes.Service was terrible. The gals waiting the tables were too busy gassing to actually serve.Ordered a mille feuille to share with my love. It did not start well, picked the strawberry off the top and it was covered in dirt. Gross, not a good sign for the rest of the food that goes through the kitchen if you can't even wash a strawberry that's still covered in pesticides and possible excrement from the local fauner. The tea, twinnings, was nice.
Popped in for a lovely lunch with a friend. Friendly quick service, simple but varied menu. Clean loos. Had tasty sandwiches and paninis served with fresh colourful salad and followed by a lovely slice of cake and drinks. Great value! If it looks busy through the window there are more tables upstairs. Definitely recommend.

This is everything you would want from a cafe. Perfect food and drink, the friendliest staff, a wide range to choose from especially the cakes, and practical if you are walking, cycling, or just driving past.Nice little touches, including the jar of dog biscuits for our favourite friends.

First off, we are national trust members and love Lyme Park, visiting it regularly to walk the grounds and gardens.. This review is purely for the Ale Cellar. We waited almost 20 minutes to get in despite tables empty inside that the staff couldn't seem to clear quickly to reduce queueing. Twice staff were asked if people could sit down and both were told to wait. Very poor service and had it not been raining heavily outside we wouldn't have waited. When we were eventually swayed we ordered some soup, sandwiches and hot drinks. The hot chocolate was not nice and hardly any drunk. The kids ordered a sausage roll â £4.75 which i thought was scandalous. Even more so when it arrived and it was just a slice not a full one. Sandwiches and soup were ok but again not cheap and service had to be promoted as not everything came together. Overall, very expensive and really disappointing and we won't be visiting again.

We popped in to use the loo and have a cup of tea. Although I was disappointed with my cuppa, we received a warm welcome and there were plenty of comfortable and quirky seats to chose from. The decor is quirky and fun - and gives the pub character like nowhere else.

This place has grown on me! Different to Libbys but equally enjoyable. Good coffee and lovely staff. A good selection of cakes and a decent deli counter. Must come and try for food but a classy place!

Tried the falafel on pitta with hummus and 'tabbouleh salad.' Unfortunately the falafel was the driest I have ever eaten, the couscous was bland and flavourless with big clumps in the middle of it. The whole dish was extremely dry with a limp salad also with no seasoning or flavour. Plain cooked chick peas with a smidgen of grated carrot. Buy a large drink if you order this dish. Disappointed! Serious suggestion, try a few herbs, some coriander, spices, anything...
