We booked a table for four Sunday lunch. We arrived and were completely ignored. Eventually our table was pointed out to us and we were given one menu between four of us. And that was the last we saw of any staff. No offers of drinks, the older member of staff completely ignored my greeting and after ten minutes of sitting there while staff milled around us, we left. Very poor, inadequate service.Hi Diana,We are so sorry you did not recieve the service you were expecting, we place a very high importance on making customers feel welcome and valued and this clearly did not happen this time. Do come back and give us another try as you missed a fabulous roast! Just for future reference, we are not a table service restaurant - drinks and food orders must be placed at the counter. We hope to see you again!

Welcoming tea and cake pit stop during our travels around Dorset and Somerset looking for family history. Particular mention to the many gluten free cake options for my coeliac husband. Tea and milk shakes beautifully presented and all served with a nothing is too difficult smile. Thank you! Morning beccacello,Thank you so much for your 5* review of eleos. A long-overdue return visit, so many new dishes to choose from on a superb menu. Our meals were inventive, fresh, and delicious. Our welcome and service were friendly and very good (including great service from someone working their first day there). Cakes also irresistable and delicious. A lovely place to eat.
Cafe and takeaway serving freshly prepared hot and cold food.Theme nights held at least once a month, private functions can also be catered for.
This a typical cafe ,the breakfast was ok but to improve Toast could of been toast instead of warm bread ,not put on plate where it soaked up all the water from the cooking process.Tea in a pot would of been nice ,not pre made in a mug.Sausage was cooked nicely but tasted of very little anything Great service but this would be for the quick builders breakfast stop.
This cafe can be found in the antique emporium on the road heading out of Crewkerne to Dorchester. All food is freshly prepared there in the cafe and the dining area is surrounddd by antiques and curiosities which is all rather fun. There is a good selection of hot and cold snacks . Their soup is always delicious and their homemade cakes are wonderful not to mention their cracking good breakfasts that are clearly very popular with the locals and anyone passing through. We love the friendly and efficient service and prices are good so it really is a little hidden gem that deserves a gold star!

We stopped in here as we had heard they had good vegetarian and vegan options for my daughter and we weren't disappointed. There were several options for vegetarians and vegans, all of which sounded really nice. I had the bacon and brie toasted sandwich, which was very tasty. We also had a vegetarian sausage and red onion marmalade toasted sandwich, which is now one of my daughter's favourites. The vegetarian sausages were not quorn as we expected but were sweet potato, pepper and chilli. The salad was varied and crisp, which was very good. We will be back.

We stopped off for lunch. I had their take on a picnic, basically a home made pork pie, cheese and caremalised onion toastie, salad, chutney, home made slaw and fries. It was all nice and tasty, served on a wooden board. We sat in the railway carriage but could have sat in the marquee or an old double decker bus. Service was good, we arrived just after 2.30 when they stop cooking lunch but still catered from their lunch menu for us. Dogs are allowed in the marquee. Outside there is a shop called The Trading Post, selling all sorts of different foodstuff which you see in farm shops and on line. It also does fill ups if you bring your own bottle or container. Definitely worth another visit when I am in the area.

This is the place you wish would exist, and it does! From the moment we entered the staff smiled and offered us advice, chat and some bloody delicious cakes, scones and simple lunch eats...the pate was a generous portion and also yummy.
