Reviews on Cafe food in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States. Council Bluffs is a city in and the county seat of Pottawattamie County, Iowa, United States. The city is the most populous in Southwest Iowa, and a principal city in the Omaha–Council Bluffs metropolitan area. It is located on the east bank of the Missouri River, across from Omaha, Nebraska. Council Bluffs was known, until at least 1853, as Kanesville. It was the historic starting point of the Mormon Trail. Kanesville is also the northernmost anchor town of the other emigrant trails, since there was a steam powered boat to ferry their wagons, and cattle, across the Missouri River.

This is a true local favorite with week day lunch specials. Also known for their hearty breakfasts, breakfast skillets, huge hashbrown servings and quick service. My 96 yr old grandma loves to go for their onion rings and chili. My personal favorite is the carrot cake and red velvet cake. Closed on Tuesdays.

We were in town for a 1:00pm production at the Orpheum and wanted a good brunch that would hold us until dinnertime. Of course, we had checked TripAdvisor and found this highly rated spot. As we pulled up and saw the throng waiting outside, we wondered if there would be time for us to wait. At the check-in, we were told ~30 minutes. OK...worth a try. There is ample waiting space indoors and coffee and water are furnished. Our wait was closer to 40 minutes, but once seated, the service was extremely prompt and courteous. These servers run their tails off! We each had a pretty basic breakfast but both were perfectly prepared and delicious. Prices were very reasonable. We'll come back to try some "fancier" fare when we have more time to spend. Glad to now know about this place tho, as we are in Omaha fairly frequently.

This was recommended to us by the hotel staff and was in walking distance of our hotel, Magnolia Hotel. It was an excellent breakfast. We started off with a cherry Strudel to share and we all loved it. Best struedel we have ever had. Breakfast and coffee was delish! We left full!!

Went here not knowing anything about it and was impressed! The food was great and service was quick. Iâve never eaten French toast off a wood platter but I went full millennial and didnât regret it. And the chai... AMAZING! It wasnât too sweet or too spicy. Also they played the B-52âs if thatâs important.
