Found this place today for a bite to eat and very happy with what we ate, fresh salad and tasty fresh cooked food, nice selection of cakes but being on a diet I had to behave ! Nice atmosphere and parking was a plenty outside. The only thing I didnât like was that the milk for the pots of tea is in a beautiful little milk bottle which is filled from a 4 pint container then put on a bar then put inside the cups ! I do not see this as hygienic at all as anything from the bottle is transferred to the cup ! Other than that we had a fantastic experience and even recommended you to a group of people we met on the high street who were looking for a coffee

Ordered food and drink and both were very good. Service was good. A misunderstanding about payments which was basically our fault was resolved politely.

We were recommended to visit this quaint country cafe and it didnât disappoint. Friendly staff and the food was excellent very tasty. My children are very fussy eaters but they were very accommodating to adapt the menu and make a tasty dinner in which they both ate and enjoyed! thank you. Weâll be back

Itâs a great venue and usually the ice cream is excellent but I was a bit disappointed in the ice cream. I wonder if the fabled vanilla shortage has hit the ice cream parlour as the vanilla tasted a bit artificial. The ice cream was nice and smooth but the taste wasnât as good as usual. Itâs a nice place to visit and the outdoor seating area is a big draw on a summers day.

Visited today for a coffee and cake. Service was poor waitresses too busy chatting waited to order and when went to pay they finished their conversation before acknowledging me. Some lovely looking cakes but the coffee and walnut we had was stale and tasteless. Nice ambience good selection of food. Disappointed

We stopped for lunch Easter Monday. It was a beautiful day and the view was fantastic. We had toasted sandwiches which were great; cakes which were homemade and very tasty (although my raspberry bakewell cake was a touch dry). Unfortunately the coffee was a little weak & watery for me, which is why I didn't give it a 5.We sat outside as we had someone on a disability scooter. The gravel gave us a little difficulty but the staff were very helpful and it was all tastefully done.

The Autisan café is run by the Autism charity within the ground of Whalley Abbey. It has a good and reasonably priced menu but strangely it quotes prices for tea/coffee with a cake but not for tea or coffee on their own; also, the kitchen wasnât open when we visited which made 50% of the menu unavailable. We chose coffee and a buttered scone- the coffee was very weak but the scone, butter and strawberry jam, was excellent. One complaint though, our table was extremely sticky, sadly something I really dislike in any café,Hi BobThank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Glad you enjoyed your scone, they are a firm customer favorite. The menus for the drinks are in the little boxes on the table (separate from the food menu). We do check that they are replenished when customers remove them but we will definitely step this up!Really sorry about your sticky table and I know the table you are talking about (table 1 near the door). We are going to get this table re varnished, as the weather has improved, the sun shines directly through the door onto the table, somehow its has began to affect the varnish. Its already booked in for a facelift!Do come back and see us againBest Wishes

Pros - Lovely setting & venue, clean, modern and yet very rustic. Well presented food.Cons - Somewhat tasteless food, extremely slow service (seemingly if your not a regular). Great disparities in food temperatures mine was warm and seemingly freshly cooked, whilst the wifeâs was cold like had been out for an age.Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed our setting & food presentation. As you were probably aware we had a very unexpected rush at lunchtime yesterday meaning the wait was longer than usual. We used to have till service rather than table service however this was swapped back due to its unpopularity. I have passed your comments onto higher management & the kitchen team, however if you wish to discuss this further with them please feel free to contact us at [email protected] regards,Deborah O'Reilly
