I guess when you have to cater for the masses you need to offer a wide range of food. When I noticed the name of this place I thought more coffee house than cafe. In reality it's more of a cafe than a coffee house. However the cake was nice. Trea served properly and hot. I had to ask for a serviette but service was friendly and prompt. No Wi-Fi. But o would return. Thank you for your comments we are indeed a coffee house as well as a cafe. Offering freshly ground coffee from the selection of over 15 different types of coffee as indeed we are also a cafe. We are so pleased you enjoyed your cake and we are sorry about the WiFi not working it was an issue with the connection on that particular day, youâll be pleased to know itâs all back up and running again. Thank you for your lovely comments and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

We visit the Village Cafe quite frequently, usually for breakfast fry-ups which are really tasty, good size portions and excellent value for money. This visit being lunchtime we opted for the cod, chips and peas.....wow! This is by far the best fish and chips we have had in any of the Clacton cafes/restaurants/chip shops and at a very reasonable price that included bread and butter. The batter was light and crispy, the fish was moist and tasty, and the chips were yummy. This is the only place we will be buying fish and chips from in future. Can't recommend this cafe highly enough. Excellent selection of cooked meals and desserts on the menu plus baguettes, rolls, sandwiches and panini's. It also operates a take away service. Give it a try if you are in Clacton, you won't be disappointed.

Small cafe with seats for perhaps twenty people. Parking on the road outside. Food is freshly prepared ( so you'll need to wait a bit for it to be served ) but well cooked and, in the main, home-made and delicious. Clean and pleasant inside. Staff seem pleasant enough. Quite cheap as well. Shame they don't open on Sundays for Sunday roast though.
