Seated straight away and our waitress was prompt and curtious. Arrived for a late breakfast/early lunch just before 12 so ordered the Club sandwich with soup and my daughter ordered the Turkey, cranberry and stuffing sandwich with soup also. Both sanwiches were served on lovely fresh brown bread with plenty of ingredients and were so delicious and the carrot and coriander soup was gorgeous. Looking forward to returning.

We brought our granddaughter for a walk in her buggy and found this cafe. We had our usual cappuccino and shared a scone with granddaughter getting her first taste of scone with jam & cream. She liked it as much as we did. Parking could be an issue if the village is busy but don't let that put you off trying it

We dined here instead of the Orangery as there was a wedding. Unfortunately it was not the kind of wedding anniversary dinner we had hoped for, however the food was still very good.Hi Lilyb1972Thank you for taking the time to post your review of Trellis . Here at The Courtyard Café ,We welcome all. If you fancy a bite to eat while enjoying some beautiful scenery at the Same time,we are the Café for you.
I visited this cafe with my family on a busy sunday, our food was brought out very quickly. I am vegan myself and they were able to make up a vegan friendly breakfast that was both delicious and creative. The staff were friendly and extremely well trained. It was very busy and it being a small seating area there wasn't much room for them to serve customers. However they were extremely helpful with my Grandmother, who is dependent on a walker to aid her walking around, by guiding her around other tables as we left. I would recommend to anyone, such a gem of a place to visit.

A few weeks ago, I called into Hogans for my lunch, greeted with a smile by the waiter who told me to sit at any table which I did, studied the menu and decided on the cod and chips. Although I was facing towards the window I was aware that people were arriving behind me and also realised that the said smiling waiter was taking their orders while I was still waiting. Eventually a waitress who I had never seen before came to me, I placed my order, was quite surprised when she returned with two forks and two napkins, placing one at each setting (even though I was alone and having fish and chips which would also require a knife!) and then arrived with my pot of tea, which is always very nice. I was then left waiting quite a while until the waitress arrived and said "2 fish and chips". I explained that I was alone, she looked surprised and then placed a plate in front of me, which had no chips, but I presumed they would arrive separately. Unfortunately, instead of arriving with the chips, she then came back and removed the plate from in front of me and said "1 minute" but never returned. Eventually after being on the premises about 30 minutes and receiving a pot of tea, I decided to leave. The smiling waiter was behind the counter and I told him that I was leaving as I still hadn't received my food. He proceeded to look to his left as though he was looking for the waitress to blame her, but the waitress was new and he has been there I think since I started going there, so don't think he should be blaming her. Anyway I left and unless they get their act together soon I don't think I'll be returning. And no, I didn't pay for the tea!

I really like this place for food and service by I wish they could wash the plates, cups, glasses and cutlery better. Its necessary for someone to check what is coming out from the dishwasher and is it fine to go to the customer.I have to agree with other reviewers here that food is overpriced.

On my first visit to Halo I wasn't expecting much more than a snack when I ordered the chicken ceaser salad. But when it arrived to my table I was very surprised with the huge salad bowl full to the brim with fresh salad and home made dressing, topped off with enough bacon to keep a grown man in rasher sambos for a few days. And that wasn't it...A grilled seasoned fillet of chicken sitting on top of the bacon. I'm not a salad person but that hit the spot and kept me going from 12 noon til almost 8pm when I had dinner. I've had several breakfasts and lunches there since and their delicious food is always on par. Halo has become a bit of a regular for myself and my son. Highly recommend Halo for a cosy bit of food that will fill you right up. And check out the funniest sandwich board ever outside :-)Thank you. Your review wins five halos!
