My daughters and some friends had said some very positive things about this pretty new addition to Carmel eateries and I'm glad I listened. Yes---a limited but thoughtful menu. Excellent ingredients...I had a VERY good Mocha and then the Patty Melt--also EXCELLENT.... .and a glass of Merlot....while my wife had her 'upscale' BLT and enjoyed every bite--- along with our tasty perfectly dressed salads. All in all, a fine lunch with a warm welcome from the staff and owners. GO!

For us it is one of the best breakfast options in downtown Carmel. Yes, higher prices are typical of Carmel, it is cash only, parking is difficult, and the very efficient staff races around to serve everyone as fast as possible. The food is good and it is right where you want to be.

We are totally baffled as to why this place gets great reviews! We came because loads of people said it was great. After waiting 25 minutes for 4 crepes (in an empty restaurant) they were completely underwhelming. What works cost â¬3 in France cost $14 and they werenât even well prepared - we had the ham, cheese and egg crepe. To start do note it was a crepe and not a savoury galette as one would normally expect, but the cheese had not been melted and the egg had been fried separately and just thrown on. Service was terrible (worthy of Parisian terrible!) and we left with a hefty check, still hungry, and extremely disappointed. Iâm sure that if youâre the $15 avocado toast loving person youâll like this place but this is not for us.

The food is excellent, the service also. A great place to have breakfast, opens at 7:00 am. They have specials and an extensive menu, additionally just tell them what you want and they will serve it. Well prepared. We were here twice with the same result.

My sister in law from England insisted on it. She had eaten at Katyâs 30 years ago on a youthful odyssey. Group of 8 family members ordered 6 different breakfasts. Everybody happy! Coffee good, service rather good ... but not great. Menu variety excellent ... with quite a few Benedict offerings. Not a long wait for seating or eating. Easy to find, park. 8 for 8 happy campers with differing tastes. Not bad!

Reserved easily by phone for Sunday brunch. Greeting was hurried and we waited awhile even though we had reserved well in advance. Cute decorations. The restaurant is small, low-ceilinged and cozy. The waiters were friendly, efficient and somewhat rushed. Latte was weak and served in a stemmed water glass, not really hot when it arrived, and cooled quickly. My wifeâs Eggs Benedict were OK, with the exception of Hollandaise sauce that was too salty, even for someone who likes food saltier than average. My breakfast burrito was warm but not hot, tasted all right. The accompanying fried potatoes had a nice flavor. I liked the local-not franchise aspect, and had cash, fortunately, as they donât accept credit cards. Prices were not out of line for this area. Carmel, Monterrey & Pacific Grove have many fine restaurants and weâll want to try other places for breakfast on this & future visits.

We had eaten at several breakfast places in Carmel, and found them very pricey. The little Swiss Cafe was excellent with lower prices, good service and good food. It seemed to us that it catered more to local residents and that explained its popularity. The restaurant was cash not cards.
