Reviews on Cafe food in Buxton, England, United Kingdom. Buxton is a spa town in Derbyshire, in the East Midlands region of England. It has the highest elevation – about 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level – of any market town in England. Close to the county boundary with Cheshire to the west and Staffordshire to the south, Buxton is described as "the gateway to the Peak District National Park". A municipal borough until 1974, Buxton was then merged with other localities lying primarily to the north, including Glossop, to form the local government district and borough of High Peak within the county of Derbyshire. Despite being in the East Midlands, economically Buxton is within the sphere of influence of Greater Manchester. The population of the town was 22,115 at the 2011 Census.

Since moving into the area, I'm a regular visitor at the Flash Bar Stores. It's great to sit outside with my big breakfast and a refreshing mug of tea in (almost) all weather. The food is delicious, home made and at a price that brings tears to your eyes - because it is such great value for money.Flash Bar Stores is popular in the local community, with bikers, walkers, hikers, cyclists, passers by - everyone really.Situated in the Peak District National Park, Flash Bar Stores is sat in wonderful countryside on the A53 between Leek and Buxton. The store has a great history to it and sells guides to the local area, including informative guides to the village of Flash, England's highest village. The store also sells newspapers, cards, pictures and a small amount of food / conveniences.I thoroughly recommend Flash Bar Stores for tasty homemade food at a great price.

Katy's Diner is a converted container, very well done out, with nice furniture, much classier than normal roadside stops. Extensive menu but meal I had was not appetising. Staff a bit off hand. Good thing is it has a toilet.

Really enjoyed my visit recently, friendly service, lovely relaxed atmosphere and the coffee is exceptionally good! Was such a refreshing change from the high street chains and I will definitely be back. P.S. It was very reasonably priced plus a 10% loyalty card to use on each visit, whatâs not to like?

I went here with a group of friends prior to going to the Buxton Opera House and, contrary to some of the reports you might read here, had a delightful experience. The pre-theatre Menu was really lovely which we all enjoyed immensely. The staff were very courteous and tried to be helpful, though they were young and obviously still finding their feet. We were there on the 25th July i.e. the record breaking hottest day of the year and the staff coped extremely well - God only knows what it must have been like in the kitchens, a living hell I would imagine! Nevertheless the food was beautifully cooked, well presented and brought out in good time. Well done to you all!I understand this whole building is under new management and it is being gradually refurbished.

Bacon roll good value but prefer the other cafe I used for breakfast to be honest. Nothing wrong though, as ever itâs personal taste.

Return visit, as in the past called at coffee time and tempted by lunch options. Today we both had winter beef hot pot- one word - excellent! Hot, fresh, and well presented. This is a really good cafe to visit-spacious layout, clean facilities, and relaxed ambience. It has a good simple range of food, and friendly service- and very competitive prices.Cafe has a charitable base and the whole enterprise is a credit. Thank you.

The Hydro Cafe & Restaurant is a 1950's & 60's themed Diner that provides delicious homemade food. Service is 5 * and we are family friendly. Come in and soak up the nostalgia. From Full English Breakfasts to Delicious desserts we have something for every
Called in for lunch today and ordered the grilled halloumi on toasted ciabatta, it came with salad and crisps .... very nice indeed. The tea tasted a little funny for Earl Grey but palatable. Very friendly and accommodating staff within a lovely ambience. We will return and try their other dishes. Thankyou

The café at Poole's Cavern visitor centre, muddy boots, dogs and hungry visitors all very welcome. Lovely home made daily specials, soups, baked potatoes, all day English breakfasts, coffee and home made cakes. Vegetarian and gluten free options available
I would go out of my way, even if not walking in the surrounding area or visiting Pooleâs Cavern to call in at the Cafe with friends or family. The homemade soups are good and on a cold day just right for a warming snack but there are lots of other hot or cold dishes at very reasonable prices. Depending on whatâs on offer the home made cakes and scones are very inviting. The staff are friendly and if you manage to get a seat by the window there are bird feeding stations to look at and, when the weather is better, there are good outside eating spaces. The Cafe is dog friendly and thereâs always a mix of walkers, visitors and locals. On the way out Iâm always tempted to browse in the shop too as there are some interesting gifts for the grand kids.

Found this by accident, looking for a 'light lunch'. We had a pulled pork sandwich and tuna baguette. Came with loads of really tasty salad and coleslaw. Food was all delicious and portions are huge, definitely not light! Only downside, coffee at £2 per cup, I know this is average but cups are very small. A mug would be better value. Certainly a hidden gem.
