Sat down here at 8pm on a Saturday evening. It was quite busy. It was difficult to get attention, you had to chase a waitress rather than them coming to you.Ordered drinks, starter and main course. Drinks came fairly quickly. Starter arrived at 8.30pm. Then we sat until 9.30pm with no food. We were sat next to a group of 4. The 1st diner had finished his meal before the 4th diner had got their food. At 9.30 I asked where the food was and I was told 'We only have a small kitchen'. I don't class myself as a business genius but the obvious answer is have less tables. Waitresses seem to be coming out with just one plate at a time.At 9.40 after waiting 1 hour 10 minutes for my meal, I paid for my drinks and left.Wild horses wouldn't drag me back there.

We visited Boppard on a day that started out in beautiful sunshine but turner to a cold stormy one as we disembarked from our Koln-Dusselforf Line's vessel after a cruise down river from Mainz. What we wanted was a warming soup and a glass of local wine. We found both at Cafe-Backerei Shug in Oberstrasse.My wife had linsensuppe and I had their goulaschsuppe (lentil and goulasch soup) both with a crusty roll from their bakery. With it we had a glass of Bopparder Hamm Trocken. Wunderbar!

J and I found this place while visiting the Christmas markets last year. Then travels took us there again in February. You won't be disappointed with a visit here. Coffee, Ox tail soup, and cakes were just as tasty as we remembered. The cozy atmosphere coupled with huge windows for viewing the Markt Platz, central location, and great service made these memorable visits for us. A nice place to relax and still take-in the passing scenery. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did (both times).
