An informal cafe serving imaginative vegetarian/vegan food, award-winning coffee, superb teas and a range of made-on-the-premises cordials. All our food is made on the premesis, with the exception of the bread which is made by a local bakery. We use local
This is shamelessly a second review for the same place simply because it is now even better than it was at the first review and more importantly several other "highly regarded" places have been terrible since going to Plenty the first time. It is difficult to know where to start . The service is friendly but professional and welcoming . The menu has fabulous choices that change almost daily and provide anyone with several options. I am not a vegetarian but have never struggled to find something fabulous. Fresh, flavoursome, delicious ..... these are just some of the ways to describe every dish. The combinations of flavour and texture is simply fantastic. The selection of teas and coffees are fabulous. There are speciality home made jams, pickles, bread and many other delicious things ..... which segway's beautifully into their cakes. Vegetarian and Vegan never tasted so good. A delightful experience ...... Wow, we are overwhelmed by your glowing review. We work hard to create a small but imaginative range of dishes, always made fresh in our little kitchen using the seasonal ingredients available. To have such wonderful feedback gives us all a lovely warm fuzzy feeling; Thank You!

Enjoyed my interesting take on Cesar's salad at Salt's Diner last weekend followed by a tasty Black Forest tart with clotted cream , both of which were homemade . Service was friendly too . There were half a dozen 'specials' on offer as well as the usual menu . Good place for food at any time of day . Love the dachshund themed crockery and paper napkins .

Another veggie place where you really do not miss the meat.Small and almost perfectly formed, this recently refurbished cafe offers interesting food based on local ingredients (including some traded from local domestic growers wiht an excess) that is handled rather well.My spinach/cheese/mushroom quesadilla was excellent and my wife was full of praise for the goats cheese and onion flan.Totally unpretentious and well worth a visit.

Arrived about 2 hours before closing. The cafe was nearly empty and staff were mopping the floor. My sister and I felt as though we were an inconvenience. We approached the counter and were told if we didn't want to take away, then to sit down and someone would take our order. Her tone wasn't particularly welcoming. We ordered 2 teas and 2 scones with jam and cream. The tea arrived with only one scone. This was warm, and with pots filled with butter, jam and clotted cream. My sister approached the counter to advise. The server then shouted across the cafe, did we want this with jam and cream too. It arrived cold and with 2 pots - one with a teaspoon of jam and the other with a similar amount of cream. Whilst there a lady came in with her grandson. She asked if they had a gingerbread man. She was told that they hadn't received their delivery. I believed that homemade was Tailormade treats USP. All in all a very disappointing experience and not one I will repeat. The youngest girl who was working was lovely and friendly. This was a Tuesday afternoon.

Came here for breakfast after seeing all the amazing reviews expecting something out of this world but left feeling a little underwhelmed if Iâm honest. Sausages and bacon were undercooked and it had no atmosphere. On the positive prices were good and there were lovely views, waiter also very friendly, but I wouldnât rush back. Dear Lauren635Thank you for the review on you last visit. I am sorry you felt the sausage and bacon were under cooked. All the food is freshly cooked so sorry if you felt that was the case on your visit. On your photo it looks like the bacon is char grilled and the sausage is cooked but i will take this under advisement. We value both positive and negative feedback to help us improve for all customer. We are delighted you liked the view and the service was up to standard.RegardsThe Rooftop Cafe Team

My wife and I visited Emilyâs and we were both blown away by the lovely meal, my wife chose the Yorkshire Italian Rarebit which she said was delicious. I chose the Calamari Fritta which was equally delicious. Both plates were a good helping size and both went back empty. The service was both friendly and helpful and knowledgeable as regards the Bronte connection. We will return, next time probably for afternoon tea/coffee and cake.
