Gourmet Diem is a locally owned cafe, specialty food and kitchenwares store located in downtown Belleville, Ontario. We sell coffee, lattes, frappe, tea, smoothies and light lunches (soups, sandwiches, salads and sweets). We also have a great selection of
We came upon Gourmet Diem more or less by accident as we had been thinking of heading to another lunch spot further up the street. However, the name intrigued us, peering through the window the place looked interesting, so we headed in. It is furnished in a fairly spare style with nice art work on the wall and shelves of interesting food related tools and ingredients for sale. We went up to the counter to place our order and to be honest my first reaction was that the menu was rather limited. There is a home-made soup, a couple of salads, I think six varieties of sandwich and doubtless some things I have forgotten. We both went for the ham, brie and cranberry sandwich, with a side Caesar salad. Everything is made to order and it was excellent. The sandwich was made of a baguette style bread that was, I think, given a sort of toasting treatment in one of those press machines. The Caesar salad dressing was nice and light as compared to the rather thick versions you usually find, and had a generous sprinkling of crispy bacon. The latte and cappuccino were excellent, and we ended with an apple and something scone. This before I had realized that there were, I think, four varieties of water ice available made, we were assured, by an expert. The only reason I have not given an Excellent rating is that the menu choices are fairly limited. Probably sensibly as the café seems to be a bit of a one man band.
Stopped in with my daughter to take in Starbuck's Frappuccino "happy hour" promotion -- 50% off at participating locations.Great to try their Caramel Waffle Cone drink. Daughter had the Java Chip drink.

Nice, friendly ,warm & cozy place for having coffee, breakfast ,lunch, dinner ,snack and more . More welcome for your meetings with nice catering
Went here with our granddaughter for lunch and was quite disappointed. The restaurant is quite pleasant and appealing although a bit unusual as that it shares half the space with a shoe store.Thatâs where it stops. I had their soup and half sandwich special. The soup that day was cauliflower/broccoli and it had little flavour and no bulk. It appeared to be a vegetable broccoli stock with some cauliflower floating in it. The egg salad sandwich although substantial for half a sandwich had little flavour. My wife had the quiche which consisted of a very small quiche which was like a dry sponge and it came with an home fries. My granddaughter had a chicken salad which she said was quite good. The prices were reasonable but we will not be returning. It is unfortunate for us that you didn't have a good experience. i am concerned that you didn't mention this to the server. Our chicken salad is home made from freshly cooked chicken breast and prepared accordingly. We have had no complaints until now. As far as the quiche , this will also be a first. All comments are taken seriously as we pride ourselves on service and excellent quality of food. Please to all who read this, instead of writing a negative review please mention any concerns while present at the establishment.ty

This restaurant serves food for breakfast and lunch. They have a great selection the sandwiches that are tasty and soups on every day. They also have a nice Friday of salads. The staff was excellent. It's a quiet place to sit down and enjoy a nice lunch. There seem to be quite a few regulars there which is always a good sign. The portions are not huge but is just what you want for lunch. It's clean and the atmosphere is up-to-date.

Visited this location after a concert at the Empire theatre. The bar/restaurant has the feel of places I have visited in Europe. Quant and intimate. The owners are friendly and great hosts. The food was extremely tasty. I enjoyed the salami sandwich and greek salad. If you are looking for something new in Belleville I highly recommend this place for coffee, drinks and food. Will definitely return.
