It does not lie within any Verbandsgemeinde, even though it is the seat of the like-named Verbandsgemeinde. Bad Kreuznach is a spa town and the seat of several courts as well as federal and state authorities. Bad Kreuznach is also officially a große kreisangehörige Stadt ("large town belonging to a district"), meaning that it does not have the district-level powers that kreisfreie Städte ("district-free towns/cities") enjoy. It is, nonetheless, the district seat, and also the seat of the state chamber of commerce for Rhineland-Palatinate. It is classed as a middle centre with some functions of an upper centre, making it the administrative, cultural and economic hub of a region with more than 150,000 inhabitants. Moreover, the town and the surrounding areas are renowned both nationally and internationally for their wines, especially from the Riesling, Silvaner and Müller-Thurgau grape varieties.

This is a large cafe on the edge of the town. Plenty of food choices including warm food, filled rolls, salad and cakes. Warm dishes tend to be simple, rustic stuff like pasta, sausages, soups, fleischkaese etc. Food is tasty but the odd hot meal could be a bit hotter.Cakes are delicious - the butterkuchen is particularly nice. The rolls are also very tasty and well-presented.Clean, modern and pleasant environment that even includes a few trees inside.Friendly staff and great value for money!Not a place to visit on foot but if you are driving this makes a great breakfast / lunch stop.

Trotz der guten Lage am Kornmarkt ist das Cafe Piccola Venezia nur bedingt zu empfehlen. Das Eis ist okay und der Kaffe gut. Die Bedienung ist jedoch unfreundlich und vergesslich. Auf unseren Kaffe müssten wir ca. 15 Minuten warten und haben diesen auch nur nach zweimaliger Erinnerung erhalten. Wie werden nicht mehr dort hingehen.

We had lovely cakes and coffees and hot chocolate, a great choice of great cakes. The mini ice cream cone served on the side of the coffee cup was a treat.
