We had soup and cheese pasta for lunch. Service was ok and food arrived quickly. Salad was limp and did it look fresh. He served never came back to ask about our meal. Nice location right by the water. I donât understand why customers are charged to use they washrooms. I would not recommend as there are other options.

After walking up the Krippenstein all the way from down in Obertraun I was really hoping for some better food. In the end I took only a "Apefelstrüdel", this was already a disapointment, my son had a spaghetti, which was cold! At least the pasta was, the sauce was hot. I did not have the energy to go back and complain. But we left after we were finished.

Parking is virtually impossible at hallstadt and costs the earth. Go to Obertraun which is before hallstadt but still on the lake. There are two services then to hallstadt - one by small boat and another by larger boat every hour from here. Parking here is dirt cheap and plentiful. In the meantime you can visit this cafe. It is small with a cheerful although not particularly cheap, menu. Service with a smile and super clean toilets. Many things to do on the side of the lake.
the confectionery and the coffee is always good and reliable here and the other cafes within their group. Service is sometimes a bit slow and occasionally grumpy,, depending on which member of staff is on duty.. Sitting outside when the weather is fine is to be recommended
The day was cold and wet and we spotted Das Gute Leben. We were intrigued by the name and very surprised on entering. Bad Aussee is a nice traditional town full of nice traditional shops and restaurants. To our surprise we were in a thoroughly modern cafe with a great atmosphere. The coffee was excellent the staff friendly and informative and the whole experience a delight. They also have an interesting shop selling a variety of wines, pictures and objets d'art. Do visit you will not be dissapointed.
I ended up being at Bad Aussee to kill time until my train time. While I was looking for a place to eat, first its old looking look got my attention and then the lunch menu price. It was tasty good.
This is Anna Plöchlâs birth house turned into a cafe. A cozy place with a nice view and good coffee. Food and other drinks are also available.
