Reviews on Cafe food in Ayutthaya, Ayutthaya Province, Thailand. Built just to the east of the spectacular ruins of the capital of the Ayutthaya kingdom, a Siamese power destroyed by Burmese invasion in the 18th century, Ayutthaya is a modern Thai city studded with archeological wonders. Headless Buddhas and crumbling but still-beautiful reliquary towers and wats give evidence of the majesty of the civilization that was once centered here.
Things to do in Ayutthaya
Decorated in a modern thai hipster style, it's a major local hotspot which is a shame because it was my favourite place in Ayutthaya. The music was fantastic, the seating was comfortable inside and out and it's in a convenient location right next door to two hostels. There are two amazing bands plying each night, changing by the day. The value is unbeatable, the food is fantastic and everyone is super friendly. Great for breakfast as well as late night eats and everything in between. You get a nice discount if you stay at the hostel next door (which is decent). Classic Thai service, not over the top but there if you ask for it. The abundance of locals mark it as a great place off of the main backpacker street which I found quite lacking.
I took my English male friends to dinner tonight. The restaurant is well decorated in European style and the dishes we ordered were good and delicious, though a bit pricey. We were pleased with the service we received from the friendly waitress. She was polite, helpful and friendly but I could not say the same about the barman. He was anything but friendly towards Thai female customers accompanying by farang male friends! Such a self opinionated! I have lived in England for almost 40 years and have many farang friends both males and females. He has made me feel uncomfortable. I would not recommend any of my friends to go there!
We went for coffee (and sweets), ordered everything. They served cake and ice-cream and told us the coffee machine was broken. Strange way of treating customers. When we saw the coffee machine, one thing was sure: They are absolutely unprofessional and have no idea about coffee. Sorry. This is just an ice cream place - nothing else.

A convenient cafe to have a coffee and cake and you can charge to your Kantary hotel guest account if you are staying. I would not recommend the meals as there are better local restaurants or the Caliifornia Steak House restaurant in the hotel itself. Ambience soo so as it is on the main road.Dear DRMB,Thank you for your kind review of your snacks at Café Kantary Ayutthaya. We would be pleased to serve you again any time you are in our area.At Cape and Kantary Hotels, we actively support SOS Childrenâs Villages and the Thai Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. We do not serve foie gras, birdsâ nest or sharkâs fin in our restaurants and we also stand firmly against the exploitation of Thai elephants for commercial or entertainment purposes.Kind regards,Café Kantary Team
The SAY cafe and gallery is an inviting casual coffee shop, restaurant and art gallery located in the heart of Ayutthaya, Thailand, a city rich in history and culture, a former kingdom of Thailand and a UNESCO world heritage site.
I been in this shop with my family, we order one pad thai, one pad kapaw, chicken wings, one pancake and two bottles of water ( crystal water ).We was the first customer of the shop but the pancake arrived after 45 minutes and for sure wasnât the best pancake that I ever eat...I donât taste maple syrup and have only banana cut very big.. the chocolate ice cream donât taste good too. At the end we pay 720 baht, I think too expensive.

The Jimâs cafe in Ayutthaya is run by a Thai guy who spent 10 years in Australia and knows how to make coffee. Genuinely the only good coffee Iâve had here. Single origin Campos bean from Ethiopia. My family had frappes and floats as well as brownies, all happy.Just near the ferry pier, around the corner from âThe Old Placeâ

Opposite Wat Mahathat.Chikul Road.
We came across this little restaurant after a trip around the temples. Tired and hot we needed some respite. What a good decision. Lovely food and drinks that set us up to finish the touring.
