This is one of the only recognizable tourist spots to eat at in downtown Asuncion. Most of the others except for TGIF's and McDonalds are local establishments. This is the most expensive and trendy place in the capital city that reflects more of the local culture and places. The ice cream we ordered was great, no disappointment whatsoever. The service on that day sucked. It took ages for us to place our order in spite of just a handful of tables occupied and the waiter calling button technology. After many minutes, we pushed the buttons of other tables around us and still no one came. After a while, we finally ordered. When we pushed the "check please" button, it didn't take as much time for the waitress to come.

This is one of my wife's and my favorite restaurants in Asunción. They have a great selection of menu items and everything we've tried has been delicious. I especially like their Estroganof de Lomito. The Milanesa de Surubà and the Lomito Especial con Champiñones are also wonderful. They make a great Piña Colada. In addition, they have a small delicatessen with pastries and various other items such as empanadas. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in Asunción.

This is a good option in downtown (older section) of Asuncion. They have a midday buffet where you pay per kilo of food on your plate. There is a variety of choices and food tasted good. This is a step up from fast food but not a full service, sit down and wait for service, kind of restaurant. One of my favorite travel tips is look for places where locals are eating, and this restaurant was filled with local office workers and others enjoying their midday meal.
