Recent Sunday brunch. Good food - pancakes, hot filled rolls, excellent scrambled eggs. Lovely terrace in full sunshine on a nice square. Only quibble was rather slow service, but a group of ten cyclists had arrived (unannounced) before us so understandable.

We stumbled in here out of the dreadful rain for a light lunch. Locals had highly recommended this place so we had high expectations.Perfect for me as I like soup and there were three on the menu to choose from. The butternut squash soup was amazing, full of subtle flavour and a generous portion. Followed by apple pie which was the best ever. All home made, and you can tell. Well done to the chefs. Great cafe, good banter and we will be back. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We take our son to a toddler class in the same building and often stop at Lagavulin for lunch. Food and drinks are fantastic value for money: substantial portions, cooked and presented beautifully. Service is friendly and welcoming, and it's child-friendly, too. I'd strongly recommend it!

Not a very friendly welcome Ordered a tuna sandwich for my wife and a scone for myself with a pot of tea for twoScone arrived quickly. Tea arrived in a pot which barely filled two cupsTuna sandwich took twenty minutes to arrive by which time tea was finished as was my sconeTrip to single unisex toilet passes the kitchen which did not look as if it inspires confidence !Toilet not the cleanest!High price for poor service Thankyou for taking the time to write your review. All our menu is cooked/prepared to order and in order of first in first served basis. As our scones are baked early in the morning you would have had this instantly. We do apologise for not being a fast food outlet and that our super sized teacups did not appeal. As to regards to the toilets, we have on record from inspectors of our industry, that ours are the cleanest in the West of Scotland. Not sure who had been in before you as we dont check on a minute to minute basis. I hope this explains your concerns in detail.

Went in with my picky 14 year old son, and they could not have been more helpful. Staff very considerate and attentive. Food is good quality and well presented, and thus slightly more expensive. The staff are their biggest asset in this cafe.

Other than to say this place is awesome and served us the best sandwiches weâve had in a very very very long time. The brown sourdough is so good I cannot describe it, homemade soups both perfect. Coffee also the best Iâve had for ages and the empire biscuit and lemon cake we carried out also superb. Highly recommend.

Super busy place especially on a nice day, weekends or during the holidays. Fantastic deli and shop area. Opted for a late brunch from the menu. Considering all of the wonderful food in the shop I was expecting something much better. Bacon was super salty and very fatty, sausage was okay and black pudding tasted very odd almost offputting. Will try again for lunch maybe breakfasts aren't their forte ?Thank you so much for coming to Ardardan, and for taking the time to write about your experience of your visit. We are always delighted to hear from visitors, and your feedback is really helpful and appreciated. Food is a great passion of ours and we are delighted that you saw this coming through in the range of products we have in our farm shop. In our tearoom we pride ourselves on providing simple but super tasty food using the best ingredients we can, and served by great and friendly people. We can't apologise enough that you didn't love the breakfast that you had, and we must and will take this on board and make sure we keep our standards up and as consistent as we can. We really hope that you do decide to pop in again to try other bits and bobs from our freshly prepared homemade menu and that you thoroughly enjoy them if you do. Thank you again for coming, The Montys & Team at Ardardan.

I have eaten here before and it was ok but this tim ejit was awful. Came in for breakfast, almost ignored by staff who never smile and are completely uninterested in anything. Took ages to be served, for food to be delivered and had to go ask for the bill. Food was terrible and I am unlikely to come back
