Visited this afternoon and was impressed with the range of food on the menu and particularly the value for money . We all had something different. The gammon with the egg n chips was tasty as was the quiche. Four empty plates and 4 extremely satisfied customers

Waited at the front of the queue for 10-15 mins without even being looked at or someone saying "we'll be with you in a minute". Eventually ordered two fry ups and had to wait a ridiculous 45 mins for each. The bacon and eggs were burnt/ overdone which was also quite annoying. May have caught them on a bad day but not impressed and would avoid to be honest.We are very sorry to hear of your bad experience at Wild Thyme. It sounds like you visited on a very busy day. We are all trained to let the customer know that "we'll be right with you". Again we are sorry you didn't get this response. Our food is freshly prepared to order and on a busy day you should have been informed that the wait would be longer than usual. It is a shame that your breakfast was not to your liking, if you had told us at the time we would have been happy to offer an alternative or refund.

Harry Potter afternoon tea! Very well thought out with caring touches, even down to Harry Potter music whilst we ate. Food was lovely, staff are attentive and very friendly. No tight fists in this cafe, plenty of cream for scones (more available on request), bottomless tea/coffee and more food than we could eat (and boxes available to take home what we couldn't eat!). Superb place to visit, we traveled an hour to eat here and it was more than worth it. It was busy for a rainy Tuesday which is always a good sign within itself, despite room full of customers it wasn't too loud and we could still sit and chat (which in a number of restaurants/cafe is not always possible) very impressed and would definitely go again.

Excellent pizzas made from fresh dough prepared in-house and cooked to perfection. Friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. They don't have a licence but do stock a large range of soft drinks and alcohol-free or low-alcohol alternatives as well as hot drinks.If you're looking for a no-frills place to grab a tasty pizza after a day on the beach then look no further - all the pizzas were excellent but the garlic bread is especially good. We'd gladly eat there again if in the area.

We called here twice during our recent holiday, firstly for coffee and then followed by breakfast.The place is cosy and homely and the staff are attentive and friendly, coffees and breakfast meals were both really nice. We were on a coach trip and caught the free bus to the pannier market from where we walked down to the river without finding anywhere for a cream tea, so were delighted when we came across Velvet and Vanilla which really fitted the bill perfectly. The scones were warm and fresh and we got chatting to the family on the next table who were from Cornwall, so naturally we were asking if the jam topped the cream, or the cream topped the jam. We agreed that the most important thing was to enjoy the experience, and as long as you did, then what did it matter how you ate it! The service was friendly, and it was just how you'd expect cream tea to be in Devon.

This is a warm, friendly, delightful Cafe where two lovely ladies and their staff produce delicious cost effective meals and where nothing is too much trouble. Their hot chocolate is the best in town and I should know because I must have sampled all that Bideford has to offer

Called in here with my partner on the way to Exeter after a weekend in Bude. As it was raining, the cafe was very busy. The place was very clean and the service was very good. We enjoyed the coffee and cake, but would have enjoyed it more without the smell of the wet dog on the table next to us and the dogs at 3 more tables. ! I am an animal lover but feel that food establishments are not the sort of places I like to see them.
