Dining Room Cafe

We stopped in for lunch. The interior is bright yellow and navy with assorted wall decor.Very simple tables and chairs with bright table clothes and chair wrappings. The menu had minimum food selections. My wife ordered a Rueben sandwich, but the waitress came back to say they had no corned beef. She settled for a chicken croissant sandwich, I ordered a burger. The food came in reasonable time. My wife said her chicken croissant sandwich was OK, tasty, but there were large chunks of grapes and chicken making it awkward to eat.My burger,I highly suspect, was of a frozen pre-made patty based upon its round flat shape. The meat was over cooked and dry.The french fries were golden and crispy, likely pre-made and frozen, but were still very good.So the food was blah. The service was good, the check amount was reasonable.I am trying their breakfast menu next.Nothing special here to report so I rate this cafe three stars.

Are you looking for a place to take visiting friends or family? How about a place to go on a leisurely drive or a motorcycle ride? A place that's just a little different than most. A place with wonderful desert scenery and beautiful lake views. A place yo

The restaurant is being totally redone inside, so we ate on the porch overlooking the lake. They still serve on the porch, but expect to be open inside again totally by Thanksgiving . We were there just as they were closing, but they were kind enough to let us eat. We had taco salads with beef and Ruben sandwiches. Rubens very good, our host always gets one. The taco salad as good but the shell was excellent. Not really inventive, but good. Salsa was quite runny but spiced just right. It is fun watching the birds punched on the railing and stealing packets of unsweetened sugar. Across from the restaurant on the lake you can take a boat cruise.

Starbucks is Starbucks and the menu is the same everywhere, so I have no issue with the cuisine. However, when I spend over four bucks on an ice latte and expect to enjoy some reading while sipping my coffee, this place is a disappointment. Yesterday, I had a coffee there in the morning and then about 8:00 PM. When I went in this morning, my laptop was blocked from the Starbucks system. If you do an Internet search for "Starbucks WiFi Squatters" you will find numerous articles that describe how Starbucks is trying to discourage WiFi usage by legitimate paying customers and lock out non-customer connections. As a result, you can be too good and too regular as a customer. That is a slap in the face. The staff members say they can do nothing and they are obviously disinterested. Like so many big businesses, Starbucks no longer appreciates customers. They appreciate our money, but not us. For the most part, they want customers to drive through or quickly drink their coffee and be gone. There was a time that I would route my trips and program my GPS to Starbucks locations when I traveled, but after a couple of stops, no more WiFi. On a 1600-mile drive, that is an insult. I would use a Starbucks stop to check email, weather, driving conditions, etc. Starbucks has lost it's connection to its customers, and it's no longer a place to sip a coffee while enjoying some reading. I rated Starbucks low on value because of the effective bait-and-block on the WiFi. And, the Starbucks in Apache Junction is the absolute worst on WiFi connectivity.
