Reviews on Cafe food in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Almaty /ˈælməti/ (Kazakh: Алматы, Almaty [ɑlmɑˈtə]; Russian: Алматы), formerly known as Alma-Ata /ˌælmə.əˈtɑː/ (Russian: Алма-Ата) and Verny (Russian: Верный Vernyy), is the largest city in Kazakhstan, with a population of 1,797,431 people, about 8% of the country's total population. It served as capital of the Kazakh state in its various forms from 1929 to 1997, under the influence of the then Soviet Union and its appointees. Alma-Ata was the host city for a 1978 international conference on Primary Health Care where the Alma Ata Declaration was adopted, marking a paradigm shift in global public health. In 1997, the government relocated the capital to Astana in the north of the country, which is about 12 hours away by train.

I am used to go there for a coffee/brunch/quick salad.Very good service, friendly, cozy with nice place for seating, in particular during summer on the outside terrace.Food is simple but fresh and good. The best seabuckorn tea (ablipixa tchai) in town!Do not be surprised for the service: you order and will have to collect your order at the counter when they call you. It might be surprising but then it's quick service, you do not have to wait.I really enjoy to go there and you will be surrounded by good people

Cafe with a taste of adventures. Wide variety of breakfasts (more than 20) from all around the world, coffee and drinks, hot-dogs, snacks, steaks, desserts.
Being a non-smoker I sat inside, waited and waited for attention. There were many young people rushing around trying to look busy although there were very few clients. Finally I was given a menu by a young man who spoke reasonable English. When it eventually arrived the soup was good but the following main course-Italian- looked and tasted like yesterday's leftovers. Adding some soup made it more palatable.Outside by a red British style phone box is Mrs Hudson's Pub which is actually downstairs. The bar was a good replica of an English style pub but I didn't stop as it was very crowded and noisy from pop dance music. Definitely not a place for the older generation!!

A spacious and stylish deli cafe that is located in the heart of old Almaty. We tried to convey the spirit of that time using the interior, filled the space with sweet memories but did not forget the importance of modern cuisine. During the day one can ha
The most important - the cooking wasn't good. Service is lazy. Furniture are tired. Summing all - prices are over.Middle bill per person is about 40$.But it is really good place to enjoy Almaty fall - you can sit outside and just have a cup of a drink ( drinks are not bad)

I had the pain perdu based on the reviews in TripAdvisor. I was a little disappointed as the crust was over fried. Had the Raf coffee with orange as recommended by the waiter. It was really good! The ambience is good with English Menu. The service staff spoke some English.

Almaty is not really your foodie city, that is why I was pleased that I found this restaurant. We came as a big company of 10, were quickly seated and served. The restaurant has a broad spectrum of foods of different countries. There are oyetsrers, Thai, American and Medirrenean dishes in the menu. We ordered lots of starters and mains. None of starters disappointed, everything was fresh and well cooked. The mains were a mixed picture. The meats were good, but I was disappointed with my Kiev chicken. The staff were great, both the waiting staff and both sommeliers. Great choice of wines, less so of beer. Definitely , I wil visit when I am back to Almaty.
