Nice pub with good food and nice and attentive staff. We had an evening meal here on a monday night when some places in Winchcombe were closed. We liked it and it was easy to book via a web site.

Visited with the family on a bank holiday. Not many food places open, but this was serving food until 5pm on Bank holiday Monday. Welcoming staff. Helpful and polite.Lovely deli selection. Great selection on menu. Lovely that the food was used from deli selection. Drinks and food came quickly and was fresh and tasty. I had the smoked chicken cheese salad ploughmanâs. Really enjoyed. Excellent. Great tasting coffee which came nice and hot. (I get annoyed when my coffee comes luke warm!)Would certainly recommend.

I have stayed at The Lion now on 4 occasions and have never been let down. This is a lovely hotel with great staff that has a fantastic atmosphere and are very customer focussed. They have lovely rooms that are beautifully appointed and I have stayed in many of them now.

Walk through the facade of this pub and you step into another stone flagged, higgledy piggledy ancient worlde ! Follow the many steps down and you find yourself in a lovely peaceful hidden garden. The service here is very warm and friendly. We called in twice recently for drinks, but the menu looks very intriguing, so we intend to return soon to try the fayre !

On a visit to Winchcombe we called in here twice and enjoyed very nice coffee with scones, cream and jam. The cafe is spotlessly clean and the only complaint is the service was slow and on the second visit during the week when there were very few customers in it took rather too long the get the attention of a member of staff to take our order.Thank you so much for your review. We do apologise for the delays in our service that day, we had a major dishwasher problem which severely disrupted the kitchen while the engineer repaired. We do hope it didnât spoil your visit too much.

I visited here with friends on a Wednesday afternoon (17th) my husband and i popped over to see the historic town of winchcombe once again,we decided to have lunch as it was absolutely delicious! Certainly beat the Sunday dinner we had here when we visited the cotswolds last time around. Although it was busy the waitress amanda worked very hard on her own, making sure everything was ok with fellow diners, certainly put the 3 waitresses to shame that were working the Sunday we visited here, well done! On another note the building is absolutely beautiful, a lovely pub with a lovely garden area.

The restaurant is lovely and the staff were very friendly but our evening was spoiled by loudly barking dogs which are allowed in the restaurant?! I wonât be returning in case this is repeated. The monkfish was delicious as was the lemon cheesecake.
