First time eating here for a party of four. Decor is very tasteful and pleasant and done to a high standard. Not a huge menu to choose from but we all found food we were happy with. Service was decent, not the most attentive however it was unobtrusive. Party for 4 with drinks around £170 with tip

Six of us visited on August 24th to grab a few cocktails prior to eating at the restaurant next door. We originally intended to visit either of the other two bars next door, but both of them were rammed and noisy with crowds spilling out into the street. I'm so glad we went to Grand Ave instead. We had a lovely airy table next to the opened bi fold doors. Our wide range of cocktails were very well made and everyone in our party enjoyed them. The service was outstanding, despite me ordering an 'Old-fashioned' (known to take a while to mix!).A great atmosphere and friendly staff, I can definitely recommend this venue. Whilst we didn't eat there, the food served to other patrons looked very tasty, appetising and nicely presented.

Dropped in for lunch having never been in before and really enjoyed the relaxed cosy atmosphere, as well as excellent food. There is a great feel about the tap, itâs quite traditional in its appearance, great music playing in the background and a warm seat by the log burner. The menu is fairly limited, but the veg sharing platter with a slice of locally made pork pie, was beyond expectation. Beautifully presented and very tasty. We will definitely be back.

Dog friend coffee shop, based on the Wirral way. Open all year round. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
I am pretty sure the beautiful sun that made us so sweaty and hungry has contributed to the food tasting so good at Flissy's. So good that we visited it again on the way back.Good restaurants have common traits: good food of course, friendly staff, clean environment, pleasant toilets and, last but not least, good customers. Flissy is full of dog-walkers and there is a bowl dedicated for the dogs in every table. Any customer, even a one-timer like me, cannot miss the happiness of the dogs and their owners. And the happiness spreads.

A lovely local cafe. Sometimes when itâs busy the service can be slow, but on the plus side it means they are paying attention to the food you get. Nice menu with interesting choices.

Went back to Marrigolds after a long break. Looking forward to their delicious fish and chips. What a LETDOWN. 2 large fish& 1 portion of chips £12.40. Must be good. Wrong. Fish dry. Batter stodgy. Chips lukewarm. Had we eaten in the restaurant we would have sent them back. Not worth the petrol money to take them back. Not like they used to be. Never going back.Dear Keith MWe are concerned to see this review if you see the clear majority of reviews we do not have this problem. This means that in general we're serving a good product for the price. Admittedly we may at sometime get something a little wrong or not to someones expectations for one reason or another but I guarantee there's never been a situation where we've never tried our best to please a (reasonable) customer. Therefore it is such a shame that people have to resort to telling the whole world on social media before speaking to us face to face or by even calling us on the phone. This has left you unhappy and us unhappy with no solution, when all it could have taken is a simple bit of communication.Something to think about before feeling unhappy about a situation a responding negatively without giving the situation a chance to be resolved. There could sometimes be a better way that exceeds our expectations.Alas for your Marigolds experience, we'll never know.P.s Thanks for free second bubble on the grading of your review. We we're sure we only deserved to have one for the terrible experience you had.

Nice bar/restaurant. Decor is cosy but modern, there is a large outdoor seating area, which is great when the weather is warm. Downside is that there is no table service outside, so to order food/drinks you have to go inside each time.Had a large selection of the Tapas/Small Plates type food, which all came pretty quickly, and piping hot. Most were excellent, would highly recommend the Chunky Chips (these were my personal favourite, absolutely delicious), chicken strips with chimichurri sauce, crispy beef (this was in a delicious sauce, we used to mop up our garlic bread afterwards), salt and pepper halloumi fries (YUM!!! Restaurants never seem to get that Salt and Pepper right, but these definitely did).A couple of us had prawns, which were a massive disappointment "pan fried" they definitely were not, they were still white and pink, more like poached/boiled/reheated, and there was a butter heavy sauce, not white wine. We couldn't eat much of these, beyond trying them unfortunately. The nachos were a bit of a conundrum, when first served they were delicious, seemingly hand made and large. However they were covered in cheese and a cheese type sauce, and stood up around all of the dips, so after a few minutes they were all completely soggy and inedible.A selection of a couple of desserts would be a welcome addition also. Can't really complain for the price and service, I'd be back, would just avoid ordering the above again.

Myself and 5 friends had the most wonderful meal midweek. The service was excellent, the surroundings really nice but the food was the key. All home cooked and fresh and fantastic value. Itâs a restaurant I would return to like a shot if I lived locally. Next time I am in Hoylake, it is top of my list of destinations. Wonderful.!!

Aubergine is a warm and friendly licensed café situated on a quiet pedestrianised side street just off The Crescent, West Kirby. We offer good food with friendly service and excellent prices.
We decided to have breakfast here. We stay regularly in the area to visit family. I opted for the vegan breakfast as I donât enjoy eggs at breakfast time. Very enjoyable. On the downside the breakfast tea was tasteless, the toast tasted like the bread had been stored in a plastic box and there was no sourdough toast available, which my husband ordered. We may return though as the cooked food itself was very nicely done.

We went here for breakfast recently and unfortunately wonât be returning. We asked for the bacon to be crispy but it was hard when it was served (thereâs a difference between crispy and burnt). The biggest issue for me though was that the place looks like it needs a good clean everywhere and some TLC. Itâs trying to bit a vintage-style tea room but sadly we felt it was more of a greasy caff. With some many places to choose from in the local area I feel the owners need to up their game.
