An independent Local business, working hard to provide freshly cooked food using fresh ingredients.
The food and drink here is lovely BUT whilst the lady I was with had her cake and coffee I had to wait 10 minutes for my food, it would have been so much nicer to have eaten together even if we had different food. Also, some of the chairs are too close together making sitting down difficult unless you are able to go up the steps to a larger table. I assumed everywhere needed to be wheelchair accessible and wheelchair friendly but I didn't see how as there were a couple of steps into the cafe and more steps to get to the toilets (I didn't look to see if there were disabled toilets but wheelchair users who have to stay in their chair wouldn't be able to make it up steps!!!!Would be nice if the website had more information on it.Good morning, Many thanks for your review although we are wondering if you could please provide some more information? After reviewing everything we can see there have been no visitors using a wheelchair?.We do not advertise ourselves as being wheelchair accessible due to the age of the building and where the facilities are. Sadly we have to keep them where they are. Although saying that we do have lots of customers who frequent us with wheelchair users. Our tables are spaced with enough room to manoeuvre but customers are more than welcome to move a chair out and pop it to the side if they require more space. The only difference with the tables at the top of the stairs is that there is a table for 8 people, the bottom half has two tables for 6 and an abundance of 4 seater tables. But as you mention there had been 2 of you I can't imagine you required the table for 8 which was up the few steps. With regards to the cake, the waitress is responsible for serving the cakes etc and the kitchen for the food. The customers are happy to either ask if they wanted it at the same time or ask the waitress to bring the cake and they will wait for the other person to be served their food. The waitress would have been more than happy to do this for you. We are happy that you mentioned how lovely the food and drinks are, we are proud to serve everything which is cooked fresh to order. Many thanks again.

This is also a pub and a hotel
Hotel is lovely , situated in The heart of Wantage , has nice bar area , restaurant and courtyard . No onsite parking however not a problem as car park at the back and is a short walk . Rooms are clean and beds comfortable. Had meal in restaurant which was very nice . Breakfast was lovely with a good selection on offer . Staff very helpful.Only criticism was that our room overlooked the market square . On a warm night needed the window open . It was so noisy , cars driving round the square , continuous chatter , then followed by early construction of Saturday morning market stalls .. not the best nights sleep .

The Blowing Stone Pub, which offers B&B, is nestled in the middle of the idyllic village of Kingston Lisle. Easily accessible from Newbury, Wantage, Swindon and surrounding areas. It is easily accessible from Britchcombe Farm Camp Site.
Went for dinner last Saturday and then again for Sunday lunch the day after. Both very good with sensibly priced food and drink (very nice Californian red for £21!). Duck really tasty Friday as were fish and chips. Sunday chicken supreme a good choice . Garden looked very pretty and utterly stunning, recently restored 12th century church of St. John the Baptist worth a visit nearby. Staff very attentive and owner highly visible which is always a good sign.I live locally so it is great to have a decent pub nearby !

We held a wedding supper in the Inn for 24 people. It was a pleasure to deal with Matt and Emma and all the staff. The food was delicious, the presentation great and Matt was very creative with the men and accommodating with our wishes. The dinner was held in the private room at the back and as the weather was so fantastic we were able to have drinks reception in the garden.A fantastic evening and highly recommended. Thank you again to everyone who made it possible.

The Boarâs Head is a traditional, cosy and friendly, country pub in the heart of the village of Ardington. You can be sure of a warm welcome from the new licensees Angela and Doreen, who offer excellent homemade seasonal foods accompanied by a wide select
Popped in a little early and the owners were very accommodating and processed our orders before the kitchen was open.We would of happily waited though as the standard of food and service was first class. An excellent experience and would certainly revisit.

Take sanctuary from the street-level bustle and dive in to the flavours of local British cuisine at Oxen Bar & Grill, the all-day neighbourhood brasserie nestled in the Courtyard Oxford South Hotel. With leather snugs, Oxfordshire inspired details, expose
Standard food (although the fish did taste and look like it came frozen from the local supermarket) but highly priced. For what looks like a high class place the food was disappointing and the service wasn't much better (including the waiter laughing when we were actually complaining about the food). It will definitely not be somewhere we visit when we are in the area next. You can get much better food elsewhere for less. Very disappointing experience.Thankyou for your review.. i would like to take this opportunity to apologise that we fell short of your expectations on this occasion.it is only with feedback, good or bad, that we can improve and increase our offering to our valued guests.I would like to gain some more information on your experience here at The Oxen Bar & Grill, as it leaves me with some questions - please email me directly on [email protected], so we can discuss further.Kindest regards and looking forward to hearing from you.Thomas KentFood & Beverage Manager
