The Argyll is a popular hotel with a restaurant and sociable bar. We offer a good quality, locally sourced menu of local Highland steaks, seafood, weekly specials and vegetarian options. The Argyll is a relaxed and friendly place with a well stocked bar,
We stayed at the Argyll for one night and had a lovely view of the water. The room is small and could use an update but mostly quite comfortable. However, that night we had the window open and the smoke from their chimney kept blowing into our room. It smelled like diesel, oil and smoke mixed together and even when we closed the window, it kept me up most of the night feeling sick. I am not sure what was burning but it was terrible.

This place was a delight to visit. The good and drink on offer was exceptional,as was the surrounding Art exhibits.Particular delicacy for me was the Cheese and Chive Scones which were special. The staff were friendly and buzzing around obviously being new to the job,but all will fall into place,I'm sure.

We were back here in this hotel once again after a period of several months away and were looking forward to our return visit which we enjoyed very much. The surroundings are very pleasant and the staff are charming and helpful. It is a warm, welcoming place with a good range of food available. Prices are very fair for this part of the land.

Recommended here for seafood but the weather meant Langoustines were unavailable. Starters were mixed, scallops lovely but mussels half empty. This was raised with waiting staff who didn't seem bothered. Don't bother with the fish pie. It was overly creamy, a bit bland and appeared to have been 'nuked' in the microwave.

This place a good atmosphere and is clearly where the locals go for a good time.We booked the day before which is advised as they told us it was the last table. The four of us eat well so eating out is always, "will it be good wont it be" experience and this was a good experience!Lovely food at a reasonable price. Our waitress was really helpful. My friend said the mussels were some of the best he has eaten. I had one of the special which was venison casserole which was lovely would have been nicer if it was served with Mash, just a thought! There was a good selection of rum at the bar which is a winner for our whiskey loving friend. The restaurant is in a good central location and was able to walk there.Make sure you try it!

We ended up in the Arch Inn due to recommendations of our guides and were not dissapointed. They do not take reservations but since we were early, it was no problem to get a table (out of season). The service was very welcoming and helpful, also in the choice of wine. We took the catch of the day which was one of the best meals during our trip to Scotland (salmon with a very delicious sauce, mash and fresh vegetables). Also the wine was very nice!

We were a group of photographers staying in Ullapool and ate here two nights running. The service really was great - two different young people and both were so friendly, attentive and quick. The food itself was really good. The guys in the group who chose the venison could not have been happier! I went for the veggie curry one night and langoustines the next. Both really tasty. Iâll. be back next time in the area for sure! You wonât be disappointed !
