We couldn't miss this restuarant thanks to the banners, etc. The 'Lunch Time' menu outside had us confused for a moment only, but the lack of one in braille was a let down :-) The restaurant is very comfortable and most of the staff had geniune warmth, especially the slightly forgetful waitress. One efficient staff member seemed to be from the set of 'Trainspotting' and added a certain artistic frissance. The decor is very modern and interesting. You will be lucky it seemed to get a table without booking. The food was truly excellent and displayed artistically at a very reasonable price.

Hotel Square

The restaurant is light and airy with big windows overlooking the square. We serve fresh local produce prepared to order. Our food is sourced locally which means the menu does change with the seasons. Highly recommended

We walked past the Square Hotel each night of our stay in the village and it was mostly empty. TBH we only decided to eat here because the Clockhouse Restaurant was full. It's a strange place in some respects. The decor is very bland, the dining space looks like its not quite finished and there was Rap music playing in the background. We were wondering whether we had made a mistake, but we soon changed our minds after we had eaten the food. Both the starters and the main meals were delicious and the chef certainly knows how to cook. The service was good and the bill was very reasonable.

The Croft Inn

We open for the season at 5.30pm on Wednesday 1st April 2020. Welcoming and homely, The Croft Inn sits in rural Speyside in the heart of the Speyside whisky trail, commanding lovely views over surrounding countryside from our "Malt Room" restaurant. Recen

Based on the reviews this was supposed to be a restaurant with good food. But this turned out not to be true. Small pub section where we had a drink, restaurant is only small and was busy. A lot of food on the menu is battered or wrapped in pastry. I choose the Welly which is a loin of venison with mash and vegetables. I don't like food in pastry that much but this seemed to be the best choice. Meat in pastry was perfectely cooked but very small piece of meat and a lot of soft doughy pastry. Not much flavour. Mashed and vegetables were very bland, no taste at all, even the mashed was pure potato without using something to make it tasty. Very disappointing, especially as for a pub style restaurant this was not cheap for what you get. The fish and chips was slightly better but also no ot much flavour. This was the least meal on our whole trip. Choice of wine is also very small, just some very basic ones. Not recommended
