A la carte dining in the heart of market town Great Dunmow, Essex. Private hire, outside catering, cocktails and more
Just enjoyed a wonderful birthday lunch for my partner in this fab restaurant, Square 1. Fantastic service from three girls who were watching, unobtrusively, all around the restaurant to make sure nothing was amiss for the diners. Nicely laid tables, albeit minimalistic, but it worked against the dark wood background. We ordered three different roasts and they arrived together, Plates laden with succulent meats and al dente veggies, accompanied by a wonderful Yorkshire. Roast potatoes followed in ample quantity. Little pots of various sauces were put on the table. All of it delicious which was proven by the empty plates that were returned. Sweets followed of the chosen strawberry Eton Mess and waffles. All delicious. My choice was cheese board with, I will say, a home made relish to die for.The whole meal was fantastic. Service was second to none. A lovely family atmosphere as the restaurant gradually filled with families and small, well behaved, children. Nice to see.

We are an independant coffee shop and eatery located at Thremhall park. Surrounded by 12 acres of parkland with free parking the coffee shop has a very relaxed atmosphere. Hatfield Forest can be accessed from here so why not come in for coffee and cake or
The location is wonderful and this Sunday we counted 23 bikes parked up. Due to such a massive influx of riders the service was slow as the staff numbers were somewhat limited. However, this doesn't excuse the same disappointment that we had a few visits ago that when the coffee was served up it was not hot enough. This really isn't good enough and it was only because they were so busy we didn't complain. Chatting to other cyclists who are regular visitors, they also thought the coffee was often a hit or miss affair.Hi Paul, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we welcome all the feedback we receive as it helps us to see what we are doing well, and what we could be doing better. We're sorry to hear that on this occasion the service we gave you wasn't to our usual high standards, we would welcome the opportunity to make it up to you on your next visit. Kind regards,The Coffee Shop team

It might be after closure while I am writing this but they are probably too polite to tell me. I've had the swordfish which is extremely good (I've never had swordfish before but if this is the reference level I dare people too come close). The hosts are very friendly and like too strike up a conversation. If you want to go to an English pub go here

The Duke's Head serves modern British cuisine in the heart of the quintessential Essex village. 'Village Pub & Dining' explains our concept perfectly. A warm, friendly, atmospheric pub, which happens to do excellent, locally sourced food! Along with frien
My wife and I have eaten here several times, the owner Liz and her staff are warm, friendly, courteous and excel at their jobs. We've eaten several dishes and the standard of the food, cooking, and presentation is gourmet standard and we shall no doubt eat here many times again.

If thereâs time before your flight or business meeting, why not explore this lovely part of Essex? After a delicious meal at Thyme, we recommend a trip to Stansted Mountfitchet Castle or a stroll through Hatfield Forest. The historic market town of Bishop

Met up with friends from Norfolk so we meet up halfway which is Stansted. Not tried here before but will definitely be back!It was one of the best roasts I have had out!Roast beef was tender pink and tasty!Yorkshire pudding was homemade, cauliflower and broccoli cheese was very nice but most importantly the roast potatoes were crispy!!! This is so difficult to achieve enmasse Glad to read you had a great time, we look forward to your next visit. Kind regards,Stacy

The Ash Pub Restaurant is a beautiful traditional 17th Century Thatched House. Locally renowned for the warm welcome, great beer, wine and locally sourced home made food. The Ash has been a favourite for many years since its use by the USA Air Force durin
This is not the most welcoming of pubs - no welcome, no smile from the publican nor the waiting staff. Not cosy at all. Food (a beef roast) was awful, tough beef, (you could have soled your boots) soggy veg, undercooked roasties, bland mash and sacrilege a soggy Yorkshire pud. The steak apparently was better but the battered onion rings needed onion and the pepper sauce needed less pepper. The gov could not wait to get rid of us. I wonât be visiting again.

Elegant dining in the heart of Stansted Mountfitchet, offering modern French and English cuisine prepared using only the freshest produce. Relaxed atmosphere with an open kitchen, regular specials and attentive service.
Decided to eat out locally rather than have airport hotel dinner and we were not disappointed. Last minute decision so lucky to get a table as we did not book. Sampled the 2 course menu and enjoyed a crispy duck salad and mini cod bites with homemade tartare on crested peas. Followed with pan fried sea bass which was excellent.Affagato desert shared was an indulgence!Thank you ever so much for this wonderful review. We are happy we could provide you with the food and service you expected. Please do let us know what we could have done to obtain a 5* review. We hope to see you again soon.
