We have heard good things about this pub/restaurant, especially their Wednesday steak night. We were not disappointed. We were greeted and seated by a very pleasant young lady and our drinks arrived within minutes, and our food order taken. We both had ribeye steak and stilton sauce, which were excellent. These were accompanied with the usual trimmings, but we were especially pleased with the big dish of home made chips. At less than £30 for us both, we highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Joiners arms situated in Newton Arlosh reopened in July 2016 with hosts Chris and Ali Robinson. The joiners arms is a traditional country pub that serves a selection of freshly cooked home-made meals. We also have a small portion menu for children and tho
Family visit, once again a difficult choice from a changing menu. All looked wonderful, exceptional and fresh home cooked food. Ample plates and for a reasonable price. Staff very helpful.

Cafe needs an overhaul, looked dirty. Older waitress looked miserable, never smiled once, didn't have her hair tied back despite being behind counter and serving food to tables. None of the waiting staff had a uniform on, no soap in toilets either (and they didn't smell too clean) ... Need I go on? This is all down to poor management. First impressions go a long way.Fish tasted nice but chips weren't up to much. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

We visited today Sunday 2nd June before we headed home after a stay at local holiday village. Food was fresh and hot, service was excellent and everyone was friendly. Seems to be a very popular place with the locals/regulars. Hubby had a full english, myself a standard breakfast and Sam had childrens fish and chips. Really enjoyed my frothy coffee :D :D.Will definitely pop in again when in the area even if its just for a frothy coffee :)

There are not many places to get a proper meal in this corner of Cumbria, the Golf was recommened by our B&B as we were planning to explore the cost south of Bowness on Solway. It was welcoming , good value and lovely, which was indicated by the number of people eating. Also good for Gluten Free

Visited twice in two days as came to stay in Solway caravan park with friends for the weekend and it was hard to find a normal restaurant nearby opened in the daytime rather than local fish and chips shops...amazing food, value for the money and portions looked more than one person could handle. Compliments to the chef! Best banoffee pie Iâve ever had!

Here a warm and inviting tearoom welcomes you. Enjoy our truly homemade food, made fresh every day in our Farmhouse kitchen. We serve snacks, hot and cold lunches and afternoon teas with a constantly changing specials board, and a selection of mouth water
We have visited on numerous occasions and the food has always been excellent. However, on our last visit we ordered the Cumberland sausage, which sadly didn't live up to our expectations, or to the usual standards at the Gincase. This was because the serving was extremely small and tasted unpleasant. We are so sorry that you did not enjoy your food on your recent visit, especially as we can see that you have visited many times over the years and always had enjoyable food. We wish you could have brought this to our attention on the day and given us the chance to put it right! Hopefully you will visit us again and we will be able to do that.
