An award-winning traditional family-run pub offering a wide selection of hand pulled cask ales, as well as a selection of continental lagers, ciders, Belgian beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. An extensive pub-grub menu is available offering home cook
Came here for Sunday lunch having, for no real reason, forgotten about it for several months. We didn't choose the Sunday roast options as we had had plenty of roast dinners over Christmas and New Year. Instead, I had ham egg and chips and my husband had the surf and turf. Both were delicious with good sized portions. I am unfortunately gluten intolerant and they catered very well for this with a gluten free menu with numerous options. The beers were spot on as always.

If you happen to be wandering about in Shropshire and find yourself in Shifnal around lunch time, by all means stop in at Nan's for some great home made meals, from splendid sandwiches to bubble & squeak. Unless you have an iron will, the carrot cake is essentially irresistible.

I took my partner for an unexpected treat to this highly renowned steak house. I knew it would be pricey but I believe you should pay for quality and the reviews were good. The interior is very nice and comfortable however there was a lack of detail from smeary cutlery to a mouldy raspberry on my dessert. My partner is the carnivore and chose the massive T-bone. It had a good flavour but was quite chewy and he had to admit that the ribeye that I usually get at £4 a portion from Lidl was better (and this steak was 7 times that price...)I had the sea bass, which was really tasty and a very generous portion. The tender stemmed broccoli was cooked perfectly al dente. The lobster bisque accompanying sauce was also delicious. I'm not really a fan of the rustic mash as it's quite dry, butthe sauce helped.I had crème brulée for dessert, which, apart from the aforementioned raspberry was lovely, with 2 melt in the mouth shortbread biscuits and a perfect layer of burnt sugar. Our server, Byron was friendly and helpful. I have done a lot of waiting-on and I think in the staff training they should be encouraged to be alert to the finer details such as the cutlery and mouldy items on the food they are delivering. I'm therefore very understanding of that working environment and never on the make for a free this or that, however, I think that finding a very mouldy piece of fruit should have maybe prompted a little more than having just the raspberry replaced, given the high end class of restaurant reputation that Miller and Carter are obviously trying to achieve if their prices are anything to go by.It's a real shame as although it is a chain, it's a small one and sometimes it's nice to go for a more special meal out. For anyone that used to know The Studio in Church Stretton, you will know exactly what I mean.Hi Karen D, thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your visit. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Oakengates is a market town within the still relatively new town of Telford, it boasts many eateries from around the world, as well as caféâs, sandwich shops and many Public Houses with specialist ales on sale, but a new eatery has opened and woe betide y
My wife and I dropped in on the Vintage Tea Room on our Wedding Anniversary. The Interior was tastefully done and it was spotlessly clean. We received a nice warm welcome on arrival and ordered Scones, Jam and Clotted Cream accompanied by a pot of tea. The scones and tea were freshly made and everything was fine. We were so impressed that we have booked another visit! We will most certainly recommend the Vintage Tea Room to family members and friends!Hello, thank you so much for rating us so highly and for your lovely comments. I am really pleased that you both enjoyed your visit and your cream tea. It was a pleasure to see you both again, and we look forward to your next visit. Thank you again, kindest regards Nicki

Restaurant 1840 is a fully licensed unique dining experience. Renovations on this former Methodist church began in 2016 following 10 years of neglect. The lovingly restored building has maintained its heritage, all tables have been converted from original
We attended the Vegan night, as it was my wife's birthday I paid extra for the birthday package. Disappointed with the flowers and the card on the table read happy anniversary. Didn't mention it at the time as it would of embarrass my wife(she didn't want to make a fuss).this is the first time I have had vegan food and I found it quite nice, however my wife has eaten vegan food before and found it Just OK. Service was good and the building has been nicely restored. No return visit for usThank you for taking the time to write your review. Firstly please accept my apologises regarding your disappointment with the card and flowers we provided for you. The wording on the card is a clear error and I can only apologise. We will pass your feedback onto the florist with regards to the flowers. In future we will ensure that if guests have any specific requirements for flowers and a specific budget in mind, that they highlight this with us so that we can ensure this is passed onto the florist ahead of time, as opposed to us making those decisions on behalf of the guest. On a positive note Iâm pleased that you did enjoy the vegan food and that the service and the environment was good. This is the first time we have run a vegan only night and so far the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.Again accept my apologises for not meeting your expectations on this occasion, we will take your feedback on board.

Well on a Saturday night and arriving two premium lagers weren't available, not a great start. As for food I pay for what I eat but we didn't pay for the soup as it was sent back as it was a congealed mess that we could have stood the spoon up in. We kept eating as we were hungry and hoped it would get better but the garlic bread was soggy, the chips were the wrong ones and cold (which they changed), and the chicken burger was bland. And I have to say generally this was not good and we won't be rushing back!

Called in on the off chance of a table on a busy Friday evening of Carnival weekend. Staff were very helpful, attentive and amusing. Great set menu offer available £10 fro two courses which we had. The fish was cooked perfectly and the turkey leek and mushroom pie was so tasty. Would recommend it to anybody.

We visited with friends and arrived shortly after 12pm. It was already busy which is always a good sign of popular pub. We found a table and were swiftly greeted by friendly staff who took our order for drinks and food. We had the specials which were excellent with Good portions and clearly freshly made. Will definitely return again.

Licenced Bistro & Continental Style Wine Bar
Booked this restaurant for a special treat (our second visit the first was a lovely Sunday lunch) and was delighted by the standard and quality of food and service provided by the team at Latimers. Witty banter by the waitress and tasty food is a winner for us. We will be back!

Visited here again this week (July 4th) for lunch and very nice it was to,I had the Roast ham eggs and chunky chips (delicious) and my wife had the scampi, also very nice, there's sure to be something on this menu to satisfy most folk and they have now got a lunchtime menu as well, coupled with the nice welcome we received from a very nice young lady who served us, we really did enjoy our meals.
