Iâm told our experience is slightly unusual by a relative, however....... The cafe itself is light bright and contemporary. Good views over the River and onwards to Camber sands. All the staff were miserable ! I ordered a croissant to go with my espresso and when it arrived it was basically cremated. I asked the waitress for a âless well done oneâ to which she replied, â I donât know if we have anyâ in a very unfriendly manner. When the replacement arrived it was only just slightly better. In true typical English style we didn't make any further fuss. The batch were clearly all over cooked and reheated. Will I hurry back ? No !

Had a very tasty tea, good value for money and friendly attentive service
Found this wonderful little Tea Rooms whilst walking around the town during a weekend in Rye. Its a picture perfect English Tea Room. Very nicely laid out with very friendly and helpful staff. There is a relatively full menu with a good and wide selection. I can thoroughly recommend the Welsh Rarebit. Well worth a visit

Recommended this restaurant/pub by the guest house B&B Jeake's House as first class choice for food. Excellent meal from beginning to end. Dungeness crab devilled potted as starter and the Romney Marsh lamb rump on a celeriac parmentier fine crunchy vegetables with radishes. All topped off with exquisite sticky toffee pudding absolutely quintessential English meal with flare! Great bar and table service - they earned their recommendation

What a happy find this place was. Not masses on the menu but it was fresh, hot and tasty. The toasted paniniâs are delicious. Seating inside and out. Itâs an ideal place to grab a coffee and a sandwich. The staff are clearly customer friendly.

We are a burger restaurant in Rye serving beef and potatoes from our own farm, just four miles away. We also serve awesome Aussie import the FreakShake. These babies have to be seen (and sampled) to be believed! No bookings.
Visited with my wife recently on a rainy evening. The service was good and the menu looked varied. I had the steak and fries with was cooked perfectly. My wife had the sliders which were ok but nothing special. Everything was as expected but we did notice that it could do with a bit of a dust. The copper kettle in the fireplace and other ornaments were not that clean, this is a restaurant and it reflects on the overall hygiene of the premises. Many thanks for your feedback, we do however clean on a daily basis however the old chimney breast creates a lot of dust. Do come back and see us again sometime!

The fig is a relaxed, contemporary cafe serving simple fresh and healthy food and locally roasted coffee.
This lovely café serves excellent breakfasts. It was difficult to choose from the wonderful unusual menu. The hollandaise sauce was freshly made to order and we enjoyed a mushroom eggs Benedict as well as a traditional one with fresh ham. The cappuccinos were excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant apart from slightly chilly with an open window. The service was friendly.

We are a family run business, set in the tranquil setting of Rye Harbour, situated opposite the Lifeboat house. We are adjacent to the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and River Rother and a short stroll from the beach. We are open 364 days a year (take Christma
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the all day breakfast which consisted of 2 Korkers sausages, 2 rashers bacon a fried egg, beans, chips and thick sliced buttered toast (you could have tomatoes and mushrooms). All cooked perfectly and a good cup of tea to follow. We will be visiting again

I booked for a Sunday evening meal. The restaurant is not usually open but it was the bank holiday weekend. On arrival there was a friendly welcome and we were shown to our table. The restaurant had a very calm, sophisticated atmosphere and nice décor. We were brought a cod fishcake amuse bouche which was nice. The bread tasted good although it was slightly undercooked and stodgy. The menu was short but we donât mind that. We selected pigeon and scallops for starters and duck and cod for mains. All the dishes we flavoursome and well presented. The desserts were both good. The prices are quite high, more like London prices really, so itâs a place to go for a treat, although I understand that they do have a set menu at certain times so look out for that.Overall we enjoyed the meal and the ambience of the place so would recommend it.

The Horse & Cart Inn is a Grade II listed dog-friendly pub in the village of Peasmarsh, 3 miles from Rye. It has four B&B rooms, a beer garden and off street parking.
This was an accidental find on the way back from shopping. It appeared totally incomprehensible that the pub was virtually empty when we arrived. The menu was quite limited but it looked to meet our requirements. The food when it arrived was piping hot and my meal was a good sized portion. My elderly mother had a small fish and chips which was plenty for her appetite. I don't think there was any frozen veg here. The veg was cooked perfectly and the pie of the day had an excellent steak and mushroom filling and the pastry very good. This was certainlly one of the best pub meals I have had in a long long time.

The Ferry Inn is an ancient, Seventeenth Century pub and restaurant that was the home of the ferry between the Isle-of-Oxney and the English mainland at Appledore. It is situated in the midst of beautiful countryside between Tenterden, Appledore, Stone-in
An early dinner watching the sun set from the front terrace, unbeatable spot. Unfortunately the food didn't match the view! We ordered a burger and a steak, the burger was ok, covered in a very sweet sauce and the 'wrap' doesn't really work. The steak was full of gristle and on the tough side, perhaps just unlucky but at £24.99 we expected something special. That said, we would definitely return for a drink and possibly a sandwich just for the view (garden at the back looks great too).Dear magnoliasundayThank you for your review. We apologise that you were not satisfied with your meal on this occasion. We pride ourselves on our food and would have been happy to try to rectify the situation if you had made us aware at the time. We do hope you will return so that we can ensure you have a better experience. Kindest regards The Ferry Team
