Just enjoyed a great wedding reception at Berni Inn, so much was good about the evening I have no hesitation in giving 5 stars. The room was beautifully decorated, staff were helpful and friendly, bar prices were very reasonable, DJ was great, fantastic selection of music but not so loud you could still chat.Food deserves a special mention, the happy couple wanted an all vegan buffet, what was on offer was an excellent selection of tasty and varied dishes, snacks, sandwiches and wraps.A great night and an excellent venue. Thank you.Thank you Helen for your wonderful review of Berni Inn Function Rooms. We are delighted you enjoyed your time with us. The Vegan buffet was something very different to our usual catering requests, but the kitchen team thourougly enjoyed serving it. The bride and groom enjoyed their special day and the feedback was very positive all round. Thank you again for taking the time to give us the fabulous review. Kind regards Berni and the team.

A newly refurbished gastro-pub Located on the outskirts of Lancashire's countryside, The Bird at Birtle promises to deliver sumptuous, flavoursome dishes, local cask ales and heart-warming drinks in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Our Bar opening time
When we booked we were told that they would need the table back by 8.30 which is understood. However whilst there we were reminded constantly and eventually felt completely pushed out. I spoke to the manager and told him we had waited 50 minutes between starters and main course. He said that we hadn't and he had checked with the kitchen. So I am a liar apparently. He wasn't interested and we left without having a desert or time to think. Last time we came, we had a superb Sunday Lunch and I scored a 5. This time the food was average and the management attitude shocking. Only consolation was a lovely lady who served us and seemed embarrassed by the whole thing. I don't care who the manager checked with, we know how long we waited between courses. Will not be back!!

Went to the Spanish evening which was brilliant again. Food was delicious as always & the 6 wines were all nice (preferred the whites to the reds but thatâs just me.)Service is fast and friendly and we did not feel rushed in any way.Cost can not be beaten. £27.50 for 4 courses, coffee and 6 bottles of wine (between 6)Absolute bargain. Looking forward to the next one.

Visited Saturday evening for my brother 60th, about 30 of us to celebrate his birthday. We had the taster menu this is just awesome food. Beautifully presented and so tasty. The staff are great so many of us but always smiling and explained what you had. Even did a swap for one thing as someone did't like one of his deserts (you get five on the plate!). Andrew Nutter came to describe the first dish and wish a happy birthday to the birthday boy.Highly recommended.

Have been coming here for years as it local. Have always told friends how fab it is. Unfortunately the last couple of visits have been disappointing. Quality is dropping, as what usually happens, with a good location. Ordered a fish finger sandwich, which for the price; didnât expect cheap fish fingers that had grey minced fish inside. The cakes that are usually large light and fluffy with a generous layer of toppings; Again quality has gone down. Heavy dense with a then layer of frosting.

Team McNeeney are now in their sixth successful year at The Oxford, sporting a range of cask ales and fabulous wines alongside a dedicated gin & tonic menu. Their cheese & onion pie is famous & Tomâs chilli has grown a cult following, but whatever your ta
Had the chilli. Very nice. Slight smokey flavour from the brisket. Came with little cups of cheese, jalepenos and v nice sour cream to add as much or as little as required. No problem with me having half rice half chips.Staff and delivery , second nature, no awkwardness and confidence in delivery. Slick and quick. Its family run , they have seen it all probably over decades and it shows. Table service for drinks not too much trouble and attentive. The menu looks interesting and traditional, with just enough modern aspects to make it up to date for the youngsters. You can tell they think things through here with good old fashioned common sense.Everywhere clean , plenty of parking. Busy between 5-8 on a Tuesday night says it all.Price wise, 11 for the chilli is fine. Sure a bit pricey for what it is, but hardly an expensive place to eat in comparison to gastro pubs.Well done. Ill be back when in area working and will be my default place to eat while staying in a local hotel.

Wonderful, individually cooked food. Attentive service and great menu choice. My daughter described the sirloin steak as the best she had ever eaten. Cooked to perfection at medium rare. For me the beef short rib is the standout dish on the wonderful menu. Beautiful views in the early evening across to the church. Jez accepted us as walk ins on a busy Saturday evening. The restaurant had a wonderful buzz. Offers us something special on our doorstep.

We held my Husbandâs 40th Birthday meal in the function room, and from start to finish Alison and team were fantastic. They decorated the room with the decorations I left, so that it was easy for me to just enjoy the day of the meal and not have to worry about getting the room ready. The food was as delicious as ever, and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend anyone to hire the function room, itâs a fabulous space for a private party.
