The boss is intimidating and rude. I frequent this place, but unfortunately, bit into a stone inside the pie that, in turn, broke my tooth. My filling - a separate piece of matter - fell out as a consequence. The boss claimed he had no Accident Book and tried to thrust £4 into my hand. He always does this, he said (why?). I want him to pay for a personal injury that would not have happened had I not eaten there. I will pursue. Watch this space...

We stopped for lunch on a rare day off together. He had a ploughmanâs like none weâd seen before...beautifully presented with thick sliced ham, a good selection of generously sized cheese wedges and pickles/garnish with baguette. Absolute heaven on a plate! I had a flatbread with halloumi which was lovely my only disappointment was that there could have been a better selection of salad leaves. Very tasty & reasonably priced. Huge portions! Thank you.

Whether youâre joining us for dinner or drinks, The Bellhouse is the ideal venue . We're rich in local history due to our royal connections (In the 15th century The Bellhouse was a hunting lodge used by Henry VIII). In the colder months, our delicious dis
My wife and I had been invited by two of our grandchildren to celebrate my seventy-something birthday the pub was quite busy and we had to wait a short while for our table once seated we were given menus and when we were ready our orders were taken we all opted for a roast lunch: turkey, half roast chicken, pork and one mixed which was beef, pork, and turkey the meals were served with crispy roast potatoes, mixed veg and a huge Yorkshire pudding plus a side order of cauliflower cheese which was included as part of the meal. We all agreed the meal was excellent and the service was way above average,I will recommend The Bellhouse.

Tea room/Coffee shop serving breakfast, light lunches, afternoon tea, cakes
Oh yes. Whatâs a pleasant place to have breakfast. Right from when you enter the door you get a fresh feeling of a nice country tea room. The staff are pleasant and polite with a smile on their faces and the breakfast is fresh and delightful. Iâve tried other places in Rayleigh and this is by far the best. Fully recommend a try. Will definitely be coming back here. Full marks for an all round service and feeling

Family run coffee shop with coffee, food and a great atmosphere
Unfortunately, both my Mother and myself received verbal insults from the man that works here. After a mix up over the bill and what change was received, the man decided to refer to my 81 year old Mother as âstupidâ as she entered the toilets because of an honest mixup. We both told the man and the staff that is not acceptable behaviour and left in a calm manner.Incidentally, the waitress had got my Motherâs order wrong and it had to be changed earlier, but we didnât refer to her as âstupidâ, especially behind her back.Furthermore, in the heat of the moment to defend my Mother, I left my phone behind on the table and unfortunately I had to go back there later to see if they had it. Thankfully, they had kept it safe and I thank them for that. However, I donât expect to be called stupid myself by the man as I leave the premises in a cowardly manner once again with my back turned and at the door.It was his insult about my Mother that caused my mistake to forget about my phone on the table. My advice to customers here is if you have a complaint or disagreement with the man that works here then get ready to be called a name as clearly he has no tolerance of anyone that questions him or complains to him. He wonât do it to your face either. Only when you are walking into the toilet or out of the front door with your back turned.Food was fine, but beware as the attitude to a customer (elderly or otherwise) can be insulting and disrespectful if you disagree with this man or make an honest mistake.

Great correspondence with Jade prior to the big day. (Fathers 90th Celebration) Professional & answered emails even when she was away from the office/holiday extremely quickly. Everything went smoothly and we were allowed to have the cake delivered a day early by the shop which was a big help. Thank you Jade.Arrived to find the room beautifully decorated and all ready to go. (We added some more decorations and made a few changes in the room) We were allowed in a a couple of hours early which was also a big help.Fantastic young & eager staff supervised by Chris and although there were a few minor hiccups these were smoothed over very professionally and full marks for this and for the friendly service and how professional everything was done. Really very good. I was a little worried about the food as itâs not cooked on the premises but I have to say it was the best food for this type of event that Iâve had in a very long time. It was almost perfect. The quality and quantity was spot on! People are still talking about it weeks after the event. Really no worries if you are planning to eat at the Rayleigh club. Fantastic! The celebration went extremely well. Iâm in the service industry so Iâm very particular when it comes to organisation but Jade, Chris and all the team really did excel. Thank you all! Just a couple of things. When we arrived a few of the chairs had rips and were marked. There were others in the cupboard in much better condition so care is needed when setting up. Also the table cloth on one table was dirty. We asked for a top table although we were given an extra round table. To be honest it worked better! Two chairs were missing. All things easily rectified and were done quickly but just to let you know for the future. Thank you again for making my fathers celebration one to be cherished forever. I will be contacting you shortly regarding another event. Thank you so much for your review, it is massively appreciated. Just to make you aware and for future guests, all our food is prepared and cooked on site. The reason we took a pre-order for your party as opposed to taking orders on the day was to ensure a quicker, more efficient service to you and your guests, leaving you more time to relax and catch up with loved ones.We thank you for choosing The Rayleigh Club to celebrate your fathers 90th Birthday celebrations and we warmly welcome you all back again soon! Thanks agin, TRC.

Coffee shop and Café serving breakfast, brunch and lunch to eat in or takeaway.
My fiancé and I visited after recommendations. As they offer both healthy and indulgent meals it caters to many tastes and diets l, including vegan. The protein smoothies, cinnamon French toast and sweetcorn fritters were all absolutely delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. Excellent value for money. We will be returning often!

Visited last night for dinner and drinks with a friend. Atmosphere was superb, the waitresses were super-friendly and the food was just outstanding: my Tennessee burger was hands down the best chicken burger I've ever tasted; quite possibly the best burger full stop. The cocktails were great too, and the prices were super-reasonable.Will be visiting again for sure!

I visited thie cafe/restaurant today to have lunch with two friends - this is not my first visit. A very fussy friend recommended this to me and I have never been disappointed yet. The food is always lovely and the staff are always, helpful, friendly and obliging. One of the best things about coming here is that you're never hurried, you can stay and chat as long as you want to. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
